There is nothing to dislike about this stay

Wow, what a little gem this place .very friendly hosts . Nice and clean .everything there what u need for a night away..room was very clean and tidy and had a great night's sleep .bed and pillows were to die for very comfortable.. Nice warm crossaint in the morning left out for us with all the rest of the breakfast bits .would recommend this to anybody to stay here .

The only thing was the clouded glass of the bathroom door wasn’t quite as private as I would like.

Beautifully appointed room, smelled like a spa. Super clean and well thought through design. All the mod cons - alexa, fancy TV and wireless phone charger. Wonderful outdoor covered area with outdoor heater to sit and enjoy the evening. Great kitchen which was well stocked with juice, milk, filtered water, bread and jams and cereals - easy for a late evening snack or breakfast.

This is not a complaint but the bathroom was compact and bijou. My only concern was the area for the toilet; I have arthritis and found it a little difficult to manoeuvre in the space provided.

Debbie was an extremely friendly, helpful host. We had a phone number to use should we need any help during our stay. We only used the b and b for one night as we had visited family in Plymouth and were on our way to Bude the next day. The accommodation was lovely, a comfy bed and smashing shower with a well lit storage area. The renovated barn was beautiful, the before and after photos are incredible! There is a planted outdoor seating area which I am sure will be enjoyed by many in the warmer months! The location just outside Sparkwell is a peaceful hamlet however, it is amusing to hear the sounds of the animals in Dartmoor Zoo not far away! Breakfast was continental and very nice but had a cooked breakfast been available it would have been the cherry on the cake!!

The breakfast side of my short stay was a little disappointing . It was a “help yourself” breakfast of cereals , toast, yogurt, tea/coffee . It was in a small room (kitchenette). Half the room was shared as a laundry room with washing machine, dryer and large boiler. It was necessary to stand up eating breakfast as room not large enough for seats.During hot summer months could sit outside. Small kitchenette shared with other residents. A cooked breakfast would have been a nice option.

The room accommodation was excellent. Extremely clean and comfortable. Certainly lived up to its billing as a luxury retreat. Debbie the host was most kind and attentive.

What didn't I like? That time inevitably went too quickly.

Everything about this property, the location and its friendly and helpful host, Debbie, were as I'd hoped from the profile text and pictures, backed up by other guests' reviews. Debbie carefully explained all the features of the property - it is beautifully decorated and equipped with modern facilities. The breakfast options were delicious, and its location is wonderful - within a lioness's roar of Dartmoor Zoo (literally!). Highly recommended, and I hope to come back soon.

Debbie, as well as being awesome hostess, is such an interesting person to talk to. Almost felt like I was staying with family. Perfect stopover before catching ferry. Thank you for a lovely stay.
