Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomThe setting could not be more idyllic. A wonderful wildflower meadow in the middle of the North Norfolk countryside, with a couple of huts dotted around the edge, and a glorious kitchen garden too. If you want some peace and quiet in a beautiful place, this is it. Our hosts were friendly, welcoming, and made sure we had everything we needed.

United KingdomAll good for us.
Lovely location, very peaceful and convenient central location for trips around Norfolk, including the coast. Our hosts Emma & Dave were very helpful and instantly made you feel at home. It was a trip for my wife's birthday and within 5 mins, she was planning our next stay at Oaks. The Magpie Shepherds Hut was very comfortable with views to the morning sunrise. My body clock ensured I watched each one!

United KingdomI liked everything!
My hosts Emma & Dave were very friendly & helpful & I was made to feel very welcome . It was my first time ever glamping & I had a wonderful relaxing time surrounded by peaceful birds & wildflowers . I heard skylarks singing & a barn owl . I would love to return in the summer when the wildflowers & butterflies are in flower the meadow right outside the door. Paths were beautifully mown between the patches of wild flowers & oak tree to create practical but relaxing walking around the site. The facilities exceeded my expectations-a lovely warm shepherds hut & hot shower a cool box to keep milk cold etc. All details were very thoughtfully worked out & if I had needed anything, I’m sure I would have felt very comfortable to ask Emma or Dave. Good location too with fish & chips at Fakenham! Am look forward to staying again with my family sometime very soon. Thank you

The Shepherds Hut was super comfy, amenities great, beautiful wild yet landscaped field, fantastic outdoor sitting and kitchen area with interesting, cool touches. Dave and Emma was super lovely too! totally recommend ☺️

United KingdomDifficult to walk to anywhere as no pavements but this seems to be very common in Norfolk.
Lovely, very well maintained site. Very peaceful. Beautiful garden area with large communal garden room which would be ideal if weather poor. Hosts couldn't have been more helpful. A great introduction to glamping.

United KingdomWe went for a couple of days. It was my first glamping experience and I didn’t regret. The owners are very nice people and always available if you need anything. Very quiet place surround by nature. Clean, comfy. You have got barbecue available which we use and tap water dependent on the shepherd where you stay. You can easily get matches, Wood for fire. It’s located not far from the coast which allow after driving for a few minutes reach the sea side, whit beautiful Views, sandy beaches. We would recommend this place

Fantastic stay, definitely glamping with all facilities. So peaceful at night but take a torch if you're staying in a hut without a bathroom attached (short walk away). Both hosts were incredible, nothing was too much trouble for them. We will be back!

United KingdomWe can’t think of anything we didn’t like about our stay.
We stayed for our first ever glamp in the Magpie half shepherd’s hut for 2 nights and thoroughly enjoyed our stay. The beds are comfortable, showers are hot, the grounds are beautiful and the owners are so welcoming, friendly and helpful. The buildings are rustic, quirky, thoughtfully stocked with everything you could need and tastefully decorated. We would recommend The Oaks highly as a perfectly peaceful spot to base yourself for exploring Norfolk and relaxing on site. Looking forward to a return trip.

Very relaxing place to stay. Simple accommodation with 2 chairs and fire pit outside hut for beautiful evenings of star gazing. Toilet block 50m or so away, lovely shower with plenty of room, very clean

United KingdomNot much really, the alpacas have gone to another home so sorry not to see them, maybe that should be removed from any advertising. The only thing I missed was a mirror, (just to check I wouldn't scare the other guests or the chickens), in the hut, I stayed in but I'll know for next time. There is a lovely mirror in the bathroom.
The sense of freedom that comes from being in a field with all the home comforts minus the distractions. The owners go out of their way to make your stay as comfortable as possible. Just remember to take wellies to combat soggy feet if you need a midnight stroll to the loo if you stay in one of the accommodation choices without their own. Location wise, a few minutes out of Fakenham by car, half an hour or so to Wells next the sea and the amazing coastline in this area.

What an absolute gem of a find. Myself and my partner had such an amazing 5 night stay. Dave and Emma the hosts were fantastic people, nothing was too much trouble and absolutely lovely hosts. The site is absolutely blissful....if you’re looking for peace and tranquility then look no further. Never too far from all the beautiful places to visit in Norfolk. The facilities were superb...beautiful tranquility whilst enjoying a bottle of two of wine over a fire pit which each hut has. We didn’t want to leave. We shall be back. Thank you for an amazing stay Dave and Emma!

United KingdomThe downside, having to leave, but alas duty calls.
Dave and Emma, the hosts, were very friendly and helpful, they obviously work very hard to make guests feel welcome, I'd have given full marks all round but believe there should always be room for improvement, although in this case it's hard to know where. The site was small compared with most, but was well set out so we didn't feel crammed in because each pitch has its own fenced garden, with seating, BBQ and water tap. We liked it, and the area, so much we plan to return next month if possible. 🤞

United KingdomShepherd hut was rather small and with no chairs inside we had to sit on the bed to read when it drizzled on Sat evening. I believe there was a hut with ensuite facilities and may be more space which would be better
THis was our first experience of Glamping -- luxury camping. The bed was comfortable and wonderful compared to sleeping on the ground. Breakfast was self prepared outdoors in glorious sunshine, who could ask for more. Toilet and shower was a 100yard walk away and worked well; although shared it was available whenever we need ed it except once when a neigh bour was using it but nom real inconvenience
