    General outward appearance

Food was good and location was handy for where we wanted to go (East fortune).also handy to the town centre with many listed buildings

It was a hot, sultry two night stay. The bedroom window opening could have been more generous. A rubbish observation on my part really.

Good hotel doing it's best to get back to normality after the decimation of COVID. The staff would be first to admit there's a way to go to achieve perfection but they're working hard at it.

The hotel's policy could be slightly better in terms of taking food and drink to the hotel for consumption. Take away food is frowned upon and should be eaten away from the premises, even a hot drink purchased out with the hotel and brought back to enjoy whilst sitting in the lovely gave cause for the hotel staff to warn off other guests.

There was a wide range of self service items available along with freshly cooked hot items from the kitchen.

The owner could hire a full time maintenance person as there is lots needing done !! A very wonderful site !! But so many easy to fix issues. unfortunately he is spending valuable time and effort policing petty imposed issues like don’t take a cup of tea on to the premise’s from sources outside !! if he had staff and resources to make this simple thing easier it would negate the need for such practice !!

location is fantastic grounds in a lovely little town with lots going for it !! spacious rooms very comfortable bed !!

Breakfast was generally poor. Sat in empty bar room at back, barely furnished and had to keep going looking for staff to get a drink

Bed very comfortable but pillows not great Very clean in bedroom Receptionist was very helpful and understanding... She managed to arrange room service for some food for me as my husband was unwell and I couldn't leave him to go eat

Other reviewers have complained about it needing updating, I think that's a bit unfair. It isn't super modern, but did have WiFi and everything we needed.

Lovely old building, very friendly staff, really comfortable bed. Haddington was a pretty little town. Good breakfast, staff happy to adapt it for Veggies.

The building is quite old, rooms are rather small and you can hear everything happening behind the wall. Bathroom could use some renovation.

The hotel is located in cute little town. It comes with free parking. Breakfast was really nice. It's a good alternative to overpriced accommodation that can be found in Edinburgh.

The kerb-appeal of the hotel was disappointing, being an old property in need of external repairs and a facelift. The owners are slowly working on improvements.

A good breakfast was available with help-yourself cereals, fruit juices, tea and coffee. A full cooked traditional choice was also provided along with toast, served to order.

It was OK, like location, but over priced and photos misleading

The bathroom needed a refurbishment, the shower curtain was discoloured and was a bit smelly. The first impressions when you turn up the short drive are not good, we thought we had the wrong place, the exterior is very poor and the photos used to market the place must have been years ago! It all a good tidy up, as does the interiors, it could be an amazing hotel. So therefore did not feel is was worth the room rate we paid, I suspect that becuse this is the only hotel in Haddington which is well placed for all the golf courses in the area that people just pay it - but then you do think from the photos it is a lt better than it is

Location was great, the breakfast was OK, limited choice The staff were really good, super helpful and accommodating, we needed to have breakfast earlier and that was not an issue and I overhead another person saying she would miss it, so they offered to do a packed lunch instead the room was big and had recently been refurbished so everything was nice and new

Room was a bit bland and a wee tad dated, understand its an older building but the floor boards were extremely squeaky and bouncy esp where the kettle was , I was glad we didn't have anyone below , these really needs repaired

Breakfast and food in general was great , room was large , bed very comfortable everything was spotless, nice touch with the caramel logs

Our room and bathroom were very small - no shelf or hook in bathroom to hang towel or put toiletry bag. Hotel is quite tired and dated. Parking area very crowded as it is used for local church, do with bearing this in mind if staying over a weekend.
