Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.

When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

United KingdomOn check-in the individual ignored us for an extended period while they completed some administrative task. However frustrating it may be to have to interrupt an activity to deal with customers, they should be reminded that the people who pay should be the priority. The dining room is very dark and gloomy - brighter lights would help.
With one exception the staff were helpful and attentive. Breakfast was excellent.

Very nicely decorated, comfy bed, great location, parking was good, quiet room, polite, efficient and friendly staff, excellent service at breakfast, high quality food and drink...we had a wonderful stay.

United KingdomThe new menu in the restaurant was like a BeefEatser steakhouse, really disappointing. On previous stays (not the Glasgow one) I always enjoyed your restaurants inviting people to have dinner with me there, as I did this time and it was honestly embarrassing, the lack of choice and range, very poor options for vegetarians.
The beds were very comfortable, the room size was great and a nice bathroom. The toiletries were of good quality as were the towels.

United Kingdom£21 for breakfast...but my poached eggs were overcooked, as was the blackpudding and bacon. Sausage was good, but too expensive for the cost.
The hotel was lovely, staff great...couldn't fault it, but the work on Pitt street...I'm sure legislation states that you can do work (loud) before 8am.at a weekend, bit we were wakened at 7am with construction noise. Not the hotels fault I know.

United KingdomOur standard room was tired and stuck away at back of hotel. Bathroom needed attention with some bits old and falling off. The main room window was enormous and not able to be opened closed without staff assistance unfortunately. Room below normal malmaison standards I'm afraid.
Staff were very friendly and knowledgeable about local area. Greeting at reception was lovely after a wet walk up the hill from the station.
