The bathroom only had a neck curtain which wasn’t brilliant when we had a caravan park behind us. The only other issue was as we were quite close to the bar (first bedroom at the top of the stairs) we could hear people in the bar laughing and chatting which isn’t great when you’ve had a long time and it’s after 10. Perhaps a more solid door would be suitable

The staff were very friendly and helpful and his pets were very cute too. It’s been done out quite quirky with a historical background which emphasised the character and charm of the building. The food was exceptional and staff were hardworking and very skilled at their jobs. The views were also outstanding and it’s in a beautiful location. Would definitely visit again.

It overlooks a caravan campsite so maybe not the best views if you’re standing right next to the window, but still has a great view of the mountains further out

There wasn't anything we didn't like at all! The main issue we had which was a shame, was with the bedroom. I booked room 10 which was a French style room on booking.com, but when we got there it had been redecorated and looked completely different to what was on the site. We were offered a choice to choose from 2 rooms and we ended up staying in room 1 which was smaller than room 10, but it was lovely and it was an upgraded room which had a great jet bath. The light in the bathroom we couldn't use as the switch was hanging off and we didn't want to break it so we just used the smaller light above the mirror. Lastly the only other thing would be little fixes like one of the chandelier arms was hanging off in the bedroom and the bedside lamps didn't match. One if the lamps was a nice bright and the other barely lit up. But again all of these things didn't effect our stay at all and are just points to fix whenever they're able! It definitley didn't impact the stay or us wanting to come back again!

The staff were lovely, welcoming and knowledgeable. They helped us with anything we needed and gave us ideas for places to go with our dog as we wanted some help finding dog friendly places. We liked that our dog could join us for food and there were 2 areas for dining. One for dogs and one for those who wanted to dine without them. The location was peaceful and was a lovely area. Everything was around 15-20 mins drive away so we could travel to different towns everyday in different directions, it was a great base camp! The building was beautiful! And it was lovely seeing the owners pets around the outside grounds. The jet bath in our room was lovely and relaxing and the bed was comfortable. The welsh breakfast was a lovely way to start the day and there were lots of options for cereals, juice, yogurt etc... The atmosphere was warm and cozy and we would definitley stay again!

Could have done with a shower cap and the tissue box needed filling up. Door to our room was sticking making it difficult to open and close quietly to avoid disturbing other guests.

The hotel was a little dated, we struggled to lock the room door and we felt the price was a bit high for the room and facilities. The shower was nice and hot but the pressure was awful.

The area is stunning and the grounds are beautiful. The staff were kind and attentive and the bed was very comfortable. We booked last minute and were well looked after.

No lift and our room was on the 2nd floor. My elderly mum struggled but it was my own fault, I should have checked first.

The food is fabulous. The staff are so friendly and the real fires create such a relaxing atmosphere. David makes the best cocktails!

I think abit of decor needs doing but this didnt really bother us. And for sure 100% the matress needs changing in the room we stayed in because i had a bad back each morning .

I loved the people the staff ,all the food was great . It had a lovely historic lounge with a blazing fire ,lovely old staircases and ceiling .
