My room was at the back with a view of the hotel laundry! (Unfortunately not all rooms can have a sea view. Could be diffficult at times to get a seat in the bar/lounge area.

This is a small hotel of the old fashioned type. (That's a compliment!) The food in the dining room (dinner and breakfast) was very good and the portions huge! The staff were very friendly and helpful (even recommending another bar for a better selection of malt whiskies!)

Very convenient hotel at the end of our walk along St Cuthbert's Way. Very friendly and helpful staff. The two rooms had all we needed and were comfortable.The view from the hotel was fantastic.

Knowing we always needed to pre-book evening meals (as there are only three restaurants on the island) would have saved a trip to Berwick for dinner!

Breakfast and dinner were excellent quality with good size portions, including for children.

The shower was a little stiff, preventing us getting much hot water. We just used the bath anyway which was enough. The WiFi for the island is very weak and most websites would not work. Guests should be made more aware of evening meals needing to be booked in advance in restaurants outside the hotel, with only three restaurants on the island guests can end up being unable to find somewhere to eat and guests should be made more aware of this.

The location was amazing, and the staff super helpful despite it being a very busy location. The restaurant food was amazing. We stayed in the attic suite, which was spacious and clean, with great views.

Apart from the magnificent view and breakfast it felt overpriced. Room was big and very comfortable but it needed a few extras and a bit of freshening up to justify the price.

Amazing view. Choose the room for the view of castle and priory and it did not disappoint. Could have looked out of the windows all day!

It would have been better if we could have had either a twin bedded room, or two single rooms, but the hotel was full. It is the only hotel on the island that offers accommodation for one night only.

Room was great, with fabulous views. Food in the bar area was good, and the portions were very generous. We enjoyed sitting in the outdoor space for a drink.

Breakfast window fixed, and does not account for crossing times, so having breakfast meant adjusting our itinerary and missing the morning low tide crossing; happily, this allowed more time for walking.

Great location on Holy Island with good parking, for easily accessible walks and exploring. Friendly staff and a breakfast worth waiting for the tide to recede - be brave and try the kipper.

The hotel definitely has a small town/country feel, which is charming but comes with some limitations. The wifi was poor and the rooms were just a bit on the tired side (carpet a little worn, floors a little creaky, etc)

Just a bit tired. Also a bit on the expensive side (food also) but you expect that with such gloriously remote and exclusive location! Small room, with tiny shower, but that’s okay.

Wonderful location, decor a bit tired, but you don’t mind it a bit tired if it feels authentic, which it does. Very good breakfast. Staff v pleasant, friendly & good-humoured, without being obsequious or pushy. Richard’s a nice chap.
