"My stay at the Manor Hotel was delightful, as I spent a night there before catching a ferry the next day I was there for only 1 evening. The hotel was housed within a historic building that, while not modern, boasted amenities such as a good TV and excellent Wi-Fi. Dining at the hotel's restaurant was a highlight; I indulged in one of the finest fish meals I've ever had, all at a reasonable price. The location couldn't have been more convenient, with ample parking available right outside. They did offer breakfast however I unfortunately did not try this. Overall, my experience was truly exceptional. I couldn't have asked for more."

The valve on our radiator was broken so our room was really hot. The room also maybe could have done with some more storage space and perhaps a mini fridge. Overall though a great place to stay!

Really enjoyed my stay here! Location was great, just a short walk from the beach, shops and restaurants. The staff were really friendly, nothing was too much trouble and the hotel is nice and modern. The bathroom was really spacious in our room as well.

The doors were not sound proofed and the floors were uneven as the building was old.

Very clean and comfortable. There was a really useful information book and the towels were positively luxurious!

The room was lovely - warm, bright, big and lovely view. We had the fish and chips two nights in a row and it was absolutely excellent!! Can honestly say it was the best fish we’ve ever had and we are in our 60s. 5 min walk from train station and 5-10 min walk from town. Also had fantastic Guinness!

Compact room. Fine for one night as a single person. And no storage at all apart from 2 hooks. Room needed a final check as not completely clean.

Our room was too warm even after turning the heating down, a unusual issue in the far north of Scotland!! Didn’t want to make noise trying to open the window. I’m sure the owner would have sorted this if we were staying longer. If you’re looking for a sterile, immaculate, characterless hotel this one is not for you but if you want friendly charm, with really decent facilities at an affordable price point - book now.

It was very central to town, easy 5-10 minute walk to train station, big old stone house with nice view of river. Really friendly, relaxed welcome in this family run hotel. Food available till 2030, we had the fish and chips, beautifully cooked fish although too big a portion for me personally. Well stocked bar with delicious Orkney beer on draught. Our room was small but comfortable bed with fully functioning modern en suite and plentiful tea making facilities. Suited perfectly for our overnight stay. Excellent value, lovely atmosphere.

The breakfast was good, but we would have appreciated some fresh fruit and yoghurt. But I suppose that that's travelling in February for you. It was good to be asked to choose what we wanted to eat.

If l had to criticise it would be certain areas of cleanliness in the room. Shower was turning brown/ yellow in the corners. Felt the floor could have been hoovered with more attention. Under the beds.etc

Just slightly chilly (first frost of winter!) Window frames had mould on them. Otherwise great.

Best breakfast ever. Friendly staff. Good furniture ( chairs and sofa in room) and great shower. Hard wood floor looked good and great for someone who has difficulty breathing with carpeted rooms.
