Served the worst plant based full English I’ve ever had for breakfast. Totally unseasoned scrambled tofu was quite shocking. Not what I’d expect for the price paid.

Lovely venue for a wedding, and the room / lounge areas were very welcoming and cosy.

The view outside the bedroom window looked onto the roof of the floor below and was unsightly, covered in pipes and cables.

The hotel is truly stunning, with old world character appointed extremely tastefully. The staff were all very friendly and efficient. The room looked beautiful. Very good breakfast in lovely conservatory. The gardens were beautiful and well-maintained, a pleasure to relax in.

Breakfast was good and was included in the price of the room. Also we were glad to be able to charge our electric vehicle at their EV charge point overnight. And although there was a function on at the hotel, the staff were attentive, and we did not experience any noise nuisance at all.

There was only one drawback and not about the actual property. The kitchen needs a real shake up as sadly the food was poor, needs a Chef who really does know how to cook and present good food.

beautifully laid out many lovely areas to relax in comfort. clean and the desk& waiting staff extremely helpful, hard to single anyone out but Hugh on the desk particularly helpful.

The window in the room needs replacing. Difficult to open, and because not double gazed or fitted well did not cut out the noise of outside. Would have liked a shower. Tv didn’t work.

Staff were friendly and very helpful. Breakfast was exceptional, so much choice, and the cooked breakfast was lovely, breakfast staff very attentive. Lovely gardens to relax in. Quirky room, lovely features. Lovely molton brown products. Would stay again.

No one answered the car park barrier intercom when we arrived before 3.00 p.m. Just kept ringing out and cutting off! Eventually we got in when another car came out but worried the barrier might come down on our Range Rover. The two men on reception were not helpful or friendly all the time we were there. There were two ladies one afternoon who were very friendly and helpful. All staff for breakfast and bar service were excellent. Reception is a very important part of making a guest feel welcome.

Unfortunately, I just thought the decor of the room was very tired. The bathroom needed some desperate TLC and the ‘shower in a bath’ thing really doesn’t work very well. The bath filled up as you showered and was quite annoying. It just needs a bit of a re-vamp. We also noticed that in this heat, a tiny bottle of milk was left not refrigerated next to the tea bags - that was quite odd that there was no fridge to put it in. There are other ways you can leave milk in the room without it needing to be in a fridge. Our breakfast was just ‘sufficient’. The fruit looked like it had been sitting there for a while, and looked a bit sad! The avocado on toast was ok, just nothing to write home about.

The decor throughout the common areas of the hotel was so well done, we loved the orangery and the little quirky details. The room was a big room too and did the job. The staff were also really lovely and made a huge effort every step of the way.

This hotel was the farthest of the hotels,from the train station. Not a problem for most. No air conditioning, but there rarely is in this area. The fan and open windows works.

Charming hotel, walking distance to a train station. Its a good 10 minute plus walk. The accessibility to a train station is essential without a car, as there are no taxes, and very few busses anywhere! This could be a problem in the rain or with very large suitcases. Very clean and nice breakfast. People with mobility issues may have a problem with the narrow corridors. There is an elevator to some rooms, and only on the first floor. Ask for one of those rooms in advance. Bottled water and soda were replaced daily, much appreciated.

We had a very enjoyable stay in this lovely traditional Cotswold hotel. We arrived rather stressed after a difficuly drive and staff were most understanding and calm.

The WiFi at the hotel was terrible. We heard this complaint from many patrons. We stayed in the last room they had available which was a handicap room. It was abit noisy being by the elevator. There were no electical plug ins in the bathroom. Perhaps this is code in this type of room.

The location of the hotel was excellent being only a few minutes walk from the train station. The garden terrace at the rear of the hotel was beautiful. The breakfast provided in the morning was excellent.
