Room was great apart from some decor work outstanding. Would prefer tea/coffee table a bit higher. The grounds could be spectacular with mature plants or wild flowers, to compliment the mature trees.

Liked central location, stayed in gate lodge and enjoyed the wee stroll up to the House for b/fast. B/fast was excellent and made to order. Staff friendly and courteous. Freedom of using gate lodge kitchen, dining and sitting room was great in addition to bedroom.

I didn’t mind that there wasn’t a restaurant (except for breakfast) due to staff shortages which is apparently a big problem across the area. I think the corridors in particular could do with a revamp as they felt a bit 1970s.

Very impressive house and my room (once I tracked it down - it’s a maze!) was large with a very comfy bed, windows that open - essential in this heat - and a decent-sized bath. Very handy for town and Tesco for dinner!

it was disappointing that there was no dinner catering.

The premises are a little dated and in need of refurbishment, but quite comfortable.

Unfortunately the pool etc was unavailable, and the restaurant wasn't open for evening meals. But this couldn't be helped and wasn't anyone's fault - we were just sad that this lovely place wasn't operating at it's full potential.

Friendly and helpful staff. Lovely room, with twin four poster beds! Very nice breakfast. Excellent location. Beautiful building and grounds.

Absence of a bar or restaurant.

Room with self catering option available, although we did not require it. Beautiful location, palatial decor, newly refurbished bathroom with plenty hot water available in shower. Very clean.

The lack of restaurant facilities and a bar suggets the Mansion House is an excellent B&B, but not what I consider to be a hotel.

Our room was excellent. Clean, well appointed and very comfortable. The breakfast was very good with lots of choice. The sitting area was very good and the dining room was spacious.

There is an issue with hairdryer. as I have really long hair, it was important, but socket is just under the bed by mirror. one little mistake which You can improve. If will go more to the Elgin (because we loved the place) will stay there again.

Perfect attitude, exceptional breakfast, fantastic matress and bed, the room was just perfect

Breakfast could have been a bit better e.g. bacon very overcooked, slow in getting coffee whilst waiting for food.

Young lady serving breakfast was very nice. Very good customer care. Reception were able to accommodate early access to room which I appreciated.

We were travelling out of season and were sorry to discover after booking that the restaurant was temporarily closed

The hotel was full of character and the staff were very friendly. Our room was spacious and it was a first to sleep in a four-poster bed. Attractive wallpaper and a large en-suite. Good to be able to recharge an electric toothbrush
