Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomI chose the Marazion Hotel because of the excellent reviews and was not disappointed. Our room was spotless and very comfortable. The staff were without exception super friendly and helpful. We felt genuinely cared about and cared for. The bar has a great pub feel and is popular with locals which is a good sign. The sheltered beer garden was a great place to make the most of the Spring sunshine out of the wind. We had dinner in the restaurant - generous portions of fine local produce - but it was the breakfasts that made our stay. Excellent!!

United KingdomIt was not a problem for me but there is no lift in the hotel and there are quite a few narrow stairs which are a bit difficult when you have a big suitcase.
I had a very enjoyable stay, the standard double room (room #7) was rather spacious, very clean, with new good furniture and comfy bed. The bathroom was spacious and modern, with a walk in shower. It was very warm and quiet as it was facing the inner courtyard. Yes there was no good view but it was explicitly mentioned in the room description and to be honest, you don't really need it as you are only a few steps away from the beach. The staff was very professional and friendly, my suitcase which I left at the reception in the morning of the arrival day was already in the room when I checked in. I asked for a take away breakfast on the day of departure and it was also prepared for me. It was a very good value for money and I will definitely consider staying here again.

United KingdomWe liked everything. Simply nothing to dislike!
The ensuite room was entirely free of the little signs of wear and tear that so often elude a camera but then show up at close quarters. It was beautiful, really spacious (including the wet room ensuite), spotlessly clean, exceedingly comfortable and blissfully quiet. It was fairly advertised as a room without a view (rm no. 7), but that didn't matter because the spectacular sea view of St Michael's Mount is a few steps from the hotel entrance. Every member of staff was just lovely - especially the ladies serving (wonderful) breakfast, who exuded kindliness and unforced good nature. Nothing was too much bother, and everything was efficient without being at all in-your-face. There was a total absence of feeling hurried along as guests. We were slightly out of season, and things were about to get a lot busier, but you knew that positive vibes like these could cope and wouldn't change under pressure. We had supper in the attached Cutty Sark restaurant on two evenings. Don't be deceived by a relatively simple menu: there's somebody genuinely accomplished in the kitchen - everything is way above 'pub standard fare', belying its written description. We'll definitely be returning. Onsite parking is spacious and guaranteed. There's a lovely sitting room just across from reception. Everything works. Our room was meticulously serviced each day in our absence. It wasn't cheap, but nor was it expensive: what we paid was eminently reasonable for such a level of understated quality and honesty. Places like this are rare and show up some of the big 4-star chains in a pretty dismal light by comparison.

BrazilNothing to complain. Everything was excellent.
The staff is awesome, attentive and lovely all the times! The hotel is an old house, but very beautiful, near the beach front. The room is small, but very cosy. So is the bathroom. We had a pleasant night. The hotel has a pub and à restaurant, which was great for us, as we had a long day driving with rain at time of arrival ( it was already dark). They have parking as well. We recommend the hotel.

United KingdomWe had a wonderful weekend away at the Marazion hotel. It was a quiet weekend in December so Karen kindly upgraded us to her favourite and best room in the hotel. The room was stunning, great views of St Michael’s mount, really comfortable bed and lovely hot shower after a blustery day out. The lounge is beautifully decorated and so cosy, the perfect place to sink into one of the comfortable chairs with a book or G&T by the fire. We enjoyed a lovely breakfast every morning and had a fabulously tasty meal in the Cutty Sark Restaurant; the steak pie is to die for! Highly recommend the Marazion Hotel, we’ll definitely be back!

Very clean, the MOST comfortable bed, lovely caring staff, great vibe and location. Would definitively recommend. Parking was also a bonus! Breakfast was delicious and staff were wonderful. Didn’t have dinner but wish we had as other place nearer the water was overpriced and not as nice.

United KingdomThere are a few stairs, just a few, but I would not take my elderly mother to stay there. To be fair I did not ask if there were stair-less rooms.
Beautiful modernised hotel in a very old building right in the centre of a quaint, ancient Cornish village. Staff were very friendly. English breakfast was great!

United KingdomEverything about our stay was perfect. We came for our honeymoon late November and the service was first class. As we were there out of the busy period we almost had one to one service. Our room was in full view of St. Michael’s mount and we felt we must have had the best room! Highly recommended
