Climbing the stairs to the room which was 3 floors up and there was no space in the room to move or even open the bathroom door.

Really liked the friendliness of staff and the warm welcoming. The location was great.

Everything centred around coach parties. Special offers at bar only for them. Service at breakfast slow because coach parties served first.

Not sure if the hotel had a set time the room had to be cleaned each day. Appeared almost after breakfast! Wasn't clear how to get into the hotel at first but good communication on booking.com

Occasionally during the day, the shower room had an unpleasant drain like smell. It was pretty minimal though and taking into account the amazing location, price and other good points of the hotel it wouldn't really put me off - just close the door! I do know that the island has a problem in that department anyway because of over population.

Staff super helpful and plenty of tea and coffee making facilities in the room. My bed was super comfortable and had plug sockets nearby (something I hate at some hotels is no plug socket by the bedside) and also a wardrobe and dressing table. My room was small, but warm and clean and decently laid out and I had plenty of room for my work stuff without tripping over it. There is parking out the front and back of the hotel and if that's full you can park overnight on the esplanade where there are plenty of spaces. The wifi was good and fast without any issues. I didn't have breakfast, as I preferred to go and check out the town.

Better quality pillows and maybe a mattress top so you couldn't feel the mattress studs. More power in the shower as very weak on the top floor

Cozy room but very hot during heatwave, I've got a small fan from the reception but it made little difference. No fridge available.

Great location just across from the beach, clean room and great housekeeping, nice staff, vending machine in the lobby that turned out to be essential 😂. Good value for money

Double bed creaked a bit

Staff very good. Room clean and view fantastic as we had a sea view Room. Breakfast great and more than enough, liked the tick list but they would also serve any combination. Overall nice stay

Understandably because of the heat windows were left open allowing some winged insects into the room, probably mosquitoes which for reasons unknown is predominant in the Isle of Wight. Not any fault of the hotel though.

Very good value for money, situation is excellent, step out of reception and be greeted by the beach, lovely view. Staff were extremely happy to help. Parking was controlled with hotel issued parking permits which makes more space available for customers only. Would definitely be staying here again.

From my room, I could see and hear the sound of the sea! The room offered all the basic comforts. Mr Jay is exceptionally kind and offered me the opportunity to store my bike inside. Donna took good care of my room and Megan of my breakfast. Thank you. I will visit again!

Great location on the beachfront and close to restaurants and shops. Friendly staff, ongoing improvements to the hotel. As there is no evening meal or lunch available, we found it helpful that you could bring a takeaway back to the hotel or sit on the seating outside overlooking the sea. Great for families, good value and close to all the attractions of Sandown. A good base for a weekend, we had two rooms. Family stay and the staff were helpful and friendly.
