Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Germanynothing to complain about
Great location, whether you just want to spend a few days in the countryside at the Jurassic Coast near Durdle Door, or are walking the South West Coastal Path. Quiet place that has a regular public bus connection which makes it easy to get around without having to use the car. The B&B has a huge well-kept garden that can be used by the guests which is especially helpful for dog owners but also convenient if you want to sit outside and enjoy a good glass of wine in the evening. The highlight though are the hosts, Jan, Mark and Doris (a very friendly and calm dog) who makes you feel like staying with friends. The room is clean, the bed was very comfortable, the bathroom all new and of high standards and the breakfast gorgeous. Did I mention that I brought a dog who was welcomed too? I really had 10 wonderful days there and will for sure return because I still have to walk a few miles of the coastal path.

NetherlandsNothing. It was all really nice.
Hosts were helpful and friendly. The location was perfect, 8 min drive to Durdle Door carpark. Beautiful house with a big garden and a hot tub. Owners have basically opened up their home so you feel at home yourself and really comfortable. We definitely return.

United KingdomThere was nothing we didn't like, at all. It was perfect.
We arrived at Marley House B&B after our 4 hour drive, and the setting was idyllic. Perfectly quaint village setting, and the house itself was beautiful. Our room was gorgeous in green and overlooked the stunning garden and had a view of a nearby church. Jan and Mark, the owners, could not have taken better care of us. The breakfast was superb - served with smiles and jokes. It was dog friendly and very relaxed. We played chess one night in the conservatory and Mark joined us for a few games. Our expectations were exceeded on every level. Great value for money and we don't usually tend to revisit places to stay as we like to experience new places, but we would definitely stay here should we be in Dorset in the future.

United KingdomMattress was too soft for me, but that is purely a personal preference, my daughter found the mattress perfect for her - definitely just my older bones!!
Lovely b&b, superb host and hostess, nothing was too much trouble for them. Spotless bedroom and ensuite. Fabulous breakfasts both mornings. Ideal location for Durdle Door and Lulworth Cove. Would definitely stay here again.

United KingdomWould have liked a hand rail or bath mat - being over 70 I need to feel safe in an over the bath shower. Just saying.
Friendliness of hosts; comfort, facilities, cleanliness and general all round feeling of being “special”. I’ve never left a B&B feeling that I truly “didn’t want to leave”. Amazing place. Great hosts.

United KingdomThe only point that can improve is the shower. The water comes out of the shower stall a little and the bathroom floor gets wet. But that's not a big problem.
The location is amazing. There are perfectly decorated living rooms. The room is large and comfortable. The breakfast was excellent and the hosts are extremely friendly and attentive. I will definitely be back.

United KingdomWe had a great time celebrating my birthday with my husband, daughter and her boyfriend. Jan and Mark are lovely hosts and made us feel special in every way - thank you once again! We loved the rooms - spacious, clean, comfortable and elegant. The apartment was very comfortable with the kitchenette and seating area adding to the homely feel. The location is perfect for day trips in Dorset. Breakfast was fantastic - freshly baked pastries, local produce, excellent coffee. We'll definitely return to try the hot tub and do more exploring...

United KingdomThere is a church bell ringing every hour. Not the property's fault but if you are sensitive to noises bring earplugs.
Where to start...we simply fell in love with this property! Jan and Mark are so lovely and made us feel right at home. They are truly dog friendly! The B&B is stunning and very spacious. The living room is huge, would allow multiple guests at the same time and all sorts of entertainment is provided. Bring swimsuit as there is a hot tub you don't want to miss! Breakfast was delicious and cooked to perfection. You can tell products are fresh and top quality. Our apartment was bright and full of colors, it had everything you could ever ask for and more. We couldn't find a better location and we cannot wait to go back.
