Fan in bathroom kept coming on at random times during the night. No black out curtains so light came in at 5.30am. There a great garden space outside if it was cleared up it would have enhanced the stay.

The front of the house was a bit noisy and hot although the owners did get me a lighter duvet when I mentioned it. The kitchen did not have a microwave or toaster. I managed without but it would have.been helpful for cooking. Otherwise it was well equipped.

Very lovely owners who went out of their way to help. Comfortable and very clean room. Convenient to walk or get bus into tourist attractions abd a lot of restaurants.

It was renovated property so there's a noisy from the front of the room.

The property is newly renovated and everything looks good. The room was spacious and clean. The bed was really comfortable and the linens were nice and clean. The bathroom was clean and there's a wardrobe too.

We bought ingredients for our own breakfast, kitchenette was clean and well supplied with microwave, fridge and other kitchen equipment. Room had a lovely outlook over back garden, very clean and comfortable. Nice TV and good supply of tray with tea/ coffee etc

I don’t think there is anything not to like about the property, honestly. Our room was quite hot when we first got in but the radiator had a thermostat so we just turned it down and opened the window and it was absolutely fine.

The property was very clean and smelled clean too. The staff were very friendly and welcoming. The location of the property is great, it’s on a major bus route and very close to the city centre. We had a view of Arthur’s Seat from our room which was lovely. The room was very comfortable, clean and had plenty of amenities. The bathroom is quite small but does the job and was lovely, fresh and clean. We didn’t see the staff very often but when we did they were very friendly and always said hello. I know that if we’d needed anything they’d have been around which was really nice.

Not really anything to complain about. The only thing we noticed was the heating was switched off in the evening, a little chilly. The bathroom would benefit with shelves in the shower and bathroom itself, somewhere to put your toiletries and a bathroom hook.

Perfect modern newly redecorated room. Close to Edinburgh city centre, 20 minutes from Edinburgh airport. Bus stop right outside the property. 5-10 minutes on the bus into Edinburgh city centre. Ideal for a short stay.

It was a basement room and it would get cold during the day. Also, there was not much ventilation so it would get stuffy as well. The bed was just ok. When we arrived, there was a big spider right in the middle of the top part of the room.

Clean room, friendly staff, tea and coffee supplied. Good wifi connection. Very pleasant experience. Perfect for someone that will not be sitting in it all day.

We came here in April of 2024, when the property opened for 3 months. Overall, it’s good value of money, the host is very friendly and helpful. The facilitation is new and at a good location that you can go anywhere else in Edinburgh by bus. Brochures shelf was helpful. It’s a hotel with travellers in mind.

There was nothing we didn't like.

We loved our short stay at the Mayfield Suites. Our room was spotlessly clean with great en-suite facilities. Parking was a big plus as it can be so expensive in Edinburgh. Newington has lots of great options for eating out and shopping too.

The building has been restored to a high standard and is a credit to the owners. More the host couldn't do enough for us, he's a really nice friendly guy. The suite was vey light and large with it's own kitchen area. Would recomend to everyone although you would need to request a downstarirs room if you don't do starirs. The bus stop is just outside and £2 each way is brilliant.

I don't recall that stairs were mentioned in the description, so that was not convenient to manage with heavy bags. The bed was very uncomfortable and there was no place to put my toiletries in the bathroom (no countertop or shelf).

The location was a bit far from the main sights in the city, but close to the University and the park. We were able to easily walk to restaurants and some shops. The room was very clean and recently updated. The staff member who greeted us was very polite and helpful when we were unable to get the lamps to turn on (it was a tripped breaker).
