The only criticism which is probably no fault of the hotel.. Most of the TV channels weren't working fully.

The Scottish breakfast was lovely... Our stay was a one night stop-over, so we didn't really get chance to explore the location... The staff were really attentive.. Thank you for a great stay.

Everything was great

Hotel really friendly, and very accommodating for the stay there with our two dogs. All of the staff we came into contact with were so helpful. The room was bright and clean with nice decor. Both evening meal and breakfast were lovely. A great hotel in a beautiful location on the NC500 route - would highly recommend ⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️⭐️

Rooms not acessable, stairs both up and down. Shower flodded as it didn't drain very well.

Friendly and helpful staff, couldn't do enough to help. . Food good in the restaurant, steaks, home made pizza and burgers with vegi options. Comfortable if deserted residents lounge. Several vintage guest registers dating back to the 1930's.

The only minor thing was that I didn't find it so easily, but that's probably more an error of my gps. Because once I got close to the hotel it was super easy to find.

Great food, breakfast and diner!! Cosy room with plenty of space! Lovely garden. Friendly and helpfull staff! Everything went smoothly!

The hotel has been around for a long time and probably seen life on the up as well as on the down. With the rise in popularity of the NC500, I expect the hotel will do very well over the coming years, so I do think some money could be spent improving the decor. It's clean enough, but looks so tired in places.

After booking in we were taken to our bedroom which was huge. Bed, obviously! 2 seater settee a single chair and a coffee table and still loads of space. Bathroom, as well, was big, with a bath as well as a shower. Tea/coffee making facility was in the room, which these days I look on as a bonus. Staff were all fantastic, couldn't fault them.

The bath tap didn't work, so you had to fill the bath via the shower head.

We stayed 1 night. We had a pleasant stay. The staff were really nice and welcoming. The room was clean and a good size. Breakfast was great and the restaurant was really comfortable with a great view. The beach was easily accessible from the hotel.

The bathroom was a bit small and has some problems with the shower, but nothing that can't be managed.

The room was quite clean and the hotel is in a good location half an hour from downtown Thurso. The staff was very friendly and carefull to our needs. There is an option to eat in the hotel restaurant which I recommend, the range of dishes is very varied and cooked very well, even the pizza was not bad.

Nothing about the hotel. The postcode gives a location about a quarter of a mile further back down the road, so it's a bit misleading.

Ideal place for a night's stay (or more) on the North Coast. Clean room, comfy beds, good bathroom/shower facilities. The restaurant offered a reasonable, albeit limited, selection. However, the pizzas were fab. Just down the road from the totally stunning Strathy Beach.

Tired decoration. The hotel was in darkness at just gone 10pm. Didn’t join WiFi as Apple suggested it was unsafe.

Bathroom was not good . Shower head rail broken , had to hold the shower head up , shower drain blocked , water filled the shower tray .

Good location. Very pleasant Australian host made us feel welcome. Cosy decor and a rooms were comfortable . Breakfast was freshly cooked and delicious. Beautiful setting.
