Have been here 4 times now and we must say that the layout as in the picture we much prefer to the current one.

The only drawback was the spiral staircase but once past that it was excellent.

Location excellent and the apartment was spotless, comfortable and well equipped. The parking was a bonus too.

Smell from curry house in evening. Wouldn’t be an issue in colder weather with bedroom windows closed.

There were a couple of things missing in the kitchen - chopping board, measuring jug but otherwise, very well appointed.

The location was perfect and the parking was a plus (despite our neighbours inability to park in a tight space 🙄) Great provisions of loo rolls, dishwasher tablets and washing up liquid, oh, and kitchen roll. A lot of holiday lets don’t have that!

It was very warm at night, and the seagulls were very noisy.

loved the very large open plan living area, with feature historic windows and ceiling. Main bedroom was a good size too. Access to everything on your doorstep. We stayed in February half term and it was quiet in the flat.

Noise from the pubs late at night - wasn’t a problem as such as you could shut the door from the lounge area so bedrooms were quiet. But noisy if in the lounge.

Really enjoyable stay - excellent location! Clean, comfortable, character property! As advertised.

Shame the sofas have not been looked after. They were too much on the ‘dirty’ side for me to feel comfortable sitting on them! Sadly the wrong colour to have for a letting property however people should be more respectful with other peoples property and furniture. This is the only issue we had with the property. We had an amazing couple of days and wished we could have stayed longer. Local people very friendly. We’ll be back again!

Beautiful property. Living area windows had a wow factor. Main bedroom was large and bed was extremely comfortable. Quirky and well positioned in the centre. Fabulous atmosphere during the Regatta. Would definitely stay again!

If you have a roof box on your car you'll need to take it off before it fits in the garage. One evening the garage was blocked by a car. Luckily we found the owner who was sadly unapologetic.

this was the second time we have stayed. at merchants rest and would do again.

Stairs were spiral but ok as long as you had a hand free. Boiler was very loud and came on whenever the hot water tap was run, including the flat above. For the price we paid a basic welcome package of milk etc would have been useful. Windows are spectacular but very drafty.

Excellent location and parking was a great boost, although garage very tight for two cars. Beds were very comfy.

Boiler was noisy firsT thing in the morning. We are not late risers but the boiler must serve both apartments and if next door awake before you the boiler kicks in and vibrates quite a lot.

Location is excellent, real bonus having a garage for the car . The property is a real treat so big, and so lovely. Very well appointed and comfy.
