Shower was cold but I don't mind a cold shower Only non alcoholic cider no other choice Ghost in the room kept on moving stuff around which got a bit monotonous.

Stuffed animals on the walls. Tired looking rooms. Water left in and old kettle. Needed a good hoover and dust. No nice seating area outside. Could be cleaner generally. Waited and hour and a half for two bar meals.

However the tap water was labelled not for drinking and no water was supplied in the room. We asked for a second glass and water before we went out for the evening but it wasn’t provided. The bar was closed (22:45) so no availability to get a (clean) glass, water was found in a fridge. This was not acceptable.

The hotel is set in beautiful grounds and has a lot of history to it. However at breakfast we observed a mouse scampering around the fire place in the room with the buffet breakfast laid out. The hotel just apologised for the inconvenience. There is also no lift so my elderly father had difficulty getting up the stairs to his room, although in fairness we did not check this before we booked. The reception staff were very helpful though.

It's an old building. Plumbing not great. Noise from other guests in corridor. Staff are lovely, but in some areas (catering) appear over-stretched by lack of numbers. Bar not particularly well-stocked.

Shower was ok but not very powerful and you couldn't drink the tap water.

A manor house hotel with real character. Huge room with a fantastic and massive 4 poster bed ( room 2 ) . All the staff were helpful and polite. This hotel had lovely old panelling , ornate ceilings, stuffed animals and squeaking floorboards to match - a fantastic grand dame of an hotel - would definitely recommend a stay 5*

There was a sign in our bathroom which stated you couldn't drink the water, but we weren't provided with additional water we had to ask- by the time we realised this was the case it was also quite late as we were getting ready for bed so a little annoying. The shower was cold. Otherwise a great stay.

Mattress was slightly on the firmer side, occasionally uncomfortable. Water pressure for the shower wasn't great, took a while for the water to warm up, didn't really get hot.

The buffet breakfast was lovely good amount of cooked and continental options. Evening meal was great, lovely setting limited choices but food was beautiful. The service from the staff were fantastic on each occasion. They were great help and providing information that we needed. Hair dryer and iron was provided in the room which was great, also was plenty of refreshments such as tea and coffee in room.
