Letting you know in advance where room F50 was as virtually all rooms were on the left hand side yet this room was on the right and not obvious. The shower head had clearly not been cleaned for a long while as the spray was a dribble and with a vigorous rub the flow was improved. It quickly seemed obvious that a staff member was absent at breakfast at 08.00 and that some parts were not ready and there was quite a large number of people present at opening time. The chef did an excellent jib but at 8,10 there was still no fruit out. Attention to detail could make this an excellent hotel but it was not my experience on this occasion

Good location and nice surroundings and a pleasant room, once you had found it

The bedrooms are a little difficult to find in the complicated layout of the old building. Also the carparks are a bit difficult to find in the dark although signposted. My mattress was uncomfortable. I wished I had more time to explore the grounds.

This was a convenient location for an evening meeting nearby. A very interesting old building with lovely parkland. Good breakfast was included in the price.

rooms were very small and in need of an update. especially bathrooms. £90 is a good price for where you are but could get better room and facilities within room at a travel lodge for less.

The rooms are very small and basic for the price and dated. For some reason my bed had been swung around and so I had to get out of bed to turn lights on and off. Several members of the group were cold at night but staff explained they had no control of CH but there were fan heaters available, but not in all rooms. For me the main problem is the admin - I was charged twice on arrival and having previously been sent emails and given a letter at reception to say that a bar and bistro food would be available in one area of the Coach House it wasn’t because of a wedding - one of two being held that day. Most front of house staff are lovely but one receptionist was frankly brusque and rude on several occasions to members our party.

There’s no doubt it is a lovely setting, the food is excellent and the waiting staff polite. I was on the ground floor with a view over the pond which was lovely’s

Although the rooms were clean and with pleasant outlook over the gardens, they were beginning to look a little dated. Shower worked well, water hot but again an upgrade needed soon.

Well maintained gardens and grounds. Adequate car parking Bar with dining facilities, good menu choices for both breakfast and evening meal. Friendly and helpful staff.

The room was smaller than expected but had everything we needed, the bathroom was a little dated. At breakfast it would be a benefit if the plates for the hot food were warmed before self-serving the breakfast, as it went cold quite quickly due to cold plates.

The location of the hotel was great, within walking distance of the town and the railway station. The grounds and main building were beautiful. The staff were great and very accommodating with requests. We had a room in the coach house and it was quiet, as requested, despite there being a wedding on. The breakfast the next day was nice with a selection of hot and cold choices.
