Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

AustraliaThe bed dipped in the middle making it a little uncomfortable. On our departure it was raining and the staff did not offer an umbrella ( reception said the temple staff should have offered one) so we ended up getting quite wet crossing the bridge back to reception and our car.
Beautiful property away from the hustle and bustle of traffic and close to the restaurants in Bray. We only stayed overnight so cannot comment on the restaurant .

United KingdomThe rooms could have been larger especially for the cost. The breakfast was disappointing, paying £40 per head I would have expected it to be cooked to order but it isn't, it is a buffet style like any chain hotel. The food was nice but the selection was limited.
Hotel and location are lovely, easy to get to and a very special place being in the middle of the Thames. We were given and upgrade which was lovely however the rooms are not large. The food in the restaurant was good but be aware a service charge is automatically added.

United KingdomThe bed was far too soft for our liking. There is some noise from the nearby motorway.
A stunning location on an island in the Thames with beautiful lawns and historic buildings. The staff couldn't have been more pleasant. We also thoroughly enjoyed dining at the onsite brasserie. One evening we walked into Bray (20min) for a gourmet meal. To make your stay special I would recommend booking a room on the island rather than the entry-level barn rooms. Our room was luxurious and had a balcony with views overlooking the river.

United KingdomThe gym was sparse and a disappointment. With a swimming pool/sauna/jacuzzi, that would have made it an exceptional venue.

United KingdomMini bar very poor. I asked the reception if there is any wine in the mini bar and was told that the mini bar had it all but there was beer only and no way to get a glass of wine as the restaurant was closing. Would be nice at least to know if you can get a bottle to the room. I wasn't well informed.
Everything! Music in the room on arrival! Powershower. Comfy bed. Beautiful garden. Excellent value for money.

United KingdomRoom was a little small, would have concerned if we'd been staying for a week, but fine for a night or two.
Beautiful old buildings that have undergone sympathetic restoration. Top notch location right on the Thames, and easy reach of the local restaurants, which is probably why most people stay here.

United KingdomSmall room. Clipped my leg on sharp bed corner twice, as a small room means little space between bed end and wall. Lovely but silly priced breakfast of £40.00

United KingdomNoisy bathroom extractor fan could not be turned off. Breakfast cost was ridiculous, bar prices too high for standard product (your loss, Bray’s gain) as was automatically adding 10% service charge for serving a drink ie a bottle out of the fridge! :(
Quiet, had sufficient facilities and helpful staff

United KingdomI specifically asked about where I could charge my electric car. I was told reception would tell me where to park. There is NO facility to charge your car at this hotel. I felt this was disingenuous and was not a good experience.
Self service breakfast was ok but nothing special

United KingdomLittle hard to find and the breakfast was good however not 5* and there was quite an odour at times which was recognised by staff with humidifiers going and scented candles abound in the main building.

United KingdomDisabled access ♿😞 I understand it's old buildings, but access to the main part, bar, restaurant, etc. was awful. Having to go in the bar to find someone to open the fire doors in a meeting room (while waiting outside in cold and rain), then fit temporary ramps down into the hall was bad enough, the ramp up to the fire doors is so steep it tipped my wheelchair back onto rollers meant as a safety measure, but I had to await help from other customers to tip me back onto 4 wheels, then help push me up as it was too steep for my electric wheelchair. But it was worse the next morning at breakfast, the meeting room was almost full with a group who had hired it and my wife was dealing with the irate person who seemed to be incharge of the party. I also felt sorry for the staff who didn't know what to do, as there was no solution to keep us both happy. During breakfast ramps and mats were tried out at other exits, in the end we're we directed to exit the main doors. The ramps went from the second step and hovered 5 or 6cm above to path, the ramp tipping and sliding as I went down it, with 2 people.holding onto my chair to steady it. Sort of safe ISH, but not very dignified. They either need to sort it out or state that you cannot accept wheelchair quests.
Everything except disabled access and wall light at less than 6ft high with narrow access, hit head on it several times getting to and from bathroom.
