Beautiful location. Quiet and relaxing. Very comfortable!

While the location is beautiful, it is a little "remote" which I think is great if you are in the self-catered steadings but more challenging if you are staying for several nights as there is very limited food options for meals at the hotel besides breakfast. This was our only complaint and it was a relatively small one as long as you are prepared for it.

Beautiful location with wonderful rooms. Great food when we did eat at the hotel and helpful staff, perfect for our 3 night mini moon!

Beautiful B&B surrounded by gorgeous scenery. Delicious dinner and breakfast the next morning. Room was stunning. My favorite part was the soaking tub overlooking the fields of sheep. The owner gave us great recommendations for a hike the next day.

There was a random plastic chair at the dresser in our room that didn’t fit in with the overall decor. I had to book this property last minute but was disappointed that a hotel/Resteraunt couldn’t offer us and food on the evening of our stay, I understand they get booking in advance but the difference between a 4 and a 5 star is going above and beyond

Stairs from the bedroom to the toilet overnight were annoying. Sofa was pretty but not cozy. Breakfast was ordinary.

It was beautiful and the lady who hosted us at breakfast was lovely. Bed was so comfortable and the shower was amazing.

Our stay at Monkstadt 1745 was delightful. This luxury lodge boasts a fascinating history and is completely secluded, nestled amidst pastures and sheep. The rooms are spacious and cozy, offering breathtaking views of the surrounding nature. The breakfast was nicely prepared and delicious, although for longer stays, the limited options on the menu could potentially pose a problem.

The service could have been better, it was a bit "cold". Also there were some noises of the wood during the night coming from the above room that you could hear / would wake you up. Maybe I was unlucky on that one.

The location is beautiful and the hotel too! It is really what you are looking for when going to Scotland. Breakfast was also really nice.

In our opinion the place is lovely there was nothing we didn’t like.

We stayed there last minute as the ferry was cancelled,the property and surrounding area were idyllic, Breakfast was lovely and plenty of it. We stayed with 2 Westie‘s and were made most welcome by staff. We stayed in the coach house .

Since we were on the first floor, there was some noise from below the dining room but it wasn't awful. Dinner was available every night of our stay but initial communication to us when booking was that it would not be.

Monkstadt House was amazing. Our room on the first floor was well appointed with tea, coffee, tv, etc. The bed was incredibly comfortable and everyone on the staff was very friendly. We had a spectacular dinner our first night and enjoyed starting our days with breakfast here. The property was a bit out of the way (single track road) but well worth it due to the silence in the evenings.

This was such an intriguing stay. We stayed in the room at the top of the house and it was AWESOME. I loved all of the windows and the clean bathroom. You got a sense of finally escaping the worries of the world and settling in. The dinner was super and I would recommend booking that in addition to the room. Breakfast was also great. Everything was high-end and done to perfection. I would recommend this spot to anyone.

Expensive but worth the stay

Stunning location on the northern peninsula of the Island of Skye. Close and scenic drive to Kilt Rock/Mealt Falls, Old Man of Storr, the Quiraing. We stayed in the Alexander Suite, which was lovely and had its own wood burning fireplace. 5-course dinner was very good, several other locations within a short drive to eat and recommend making reservations in advance. Definitely would visit and stay at Monkstadt again!

the price is on higher side and the location is remote. We came during the evening when the weather was bad (raining heavily), finding the place and the drive became a bit of a challenge. Else it is perfect!

This hotel is a must stay in isle of skye. It's history itself makes it worth the stay. This is not it though, it offers amazing food, the rooms are recently renovated and have latest facilities. There was a fireplace in the common room with old days equipments which made it really fun and romantic. The owner of the hotel was very friendly and told us about the history of the hotel and how Bonnie Prince Charlie stayed close to the hotel during the escape. The room was beautiful as well. It was a very lovely romantic stay.

The only minor thing I can think of is we were in room 6 and the living area downstairs could’ve done with the option of brighter lighting.

The property, decor, textiles all relaxed luxury - just beautiful. Wonderful views and an outstanding breakfast. Hosts were attentive but not overbearing. Just a wonderful visit, wish we could have stayed a whole week including a whole day in those delicious beds and clawfoot baths!
