Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomMy room on the third floor was very hot even with the air conditioning on/ or with the window open. I also found the bed quite hard. The lift was out of service at the time of my visit.
In a fantastic location very close to the tube station. The gentleman at reception was very polite when I was checking in. They also upgraded my room on arrival which was a pleasant surprise. The continental selection at breakfast was nice.

New ZealandThe lift was out of order and they don’t seem to be doing anything about fixing it. They did get a guy to carry my big suitcase up to my room for me, but still for the price at this hotel I expect the lift to work. They also had all of the fire doors to the stairs propped open, which is a fire risk as the stairs would fill with smoke if there actually was a fire.
Very good location in Kensington, handy to the Royal Albert Hall. I had a room with a shared bathroom and it was fine. The bathroom was nice. I liked having a basin in the room also.

AustraliaThe lift was broken and was not in use for maybe a few more weeks! This should have been told to us at booking!
It was advertised with breakfast included at the price we paid. They didn’t mention continental bfast only. On arrival it was 4 pound extra each for full breakfast.

United KingdomBathroom…. Very deep bath to step into to shower…. Grab rails are there but it was tricky enough to get out if you are small… great pressure and hot water though….bathroom was very small. No drinks in bar after 10pm ( during week anyway)….
Super clean, friendly staff, great location. Close to Royal Albert Hall where we went for a concert. Also 15 min walk to Kensington Palace. Gloucester rd tube across the road…3 stops from Victoria. The staff were among the friendliest iv ever encountered. Little bar very cute.

United KingdomAn annoying flashing phone. Either flashing or on "display" which was very bright. Lift was out of action for the whole or our 4-day stay with no obvious action to repair. Didn't affect us but could have been a surprise to others. Bathroom good but sink had several cracks and chips. Didn't leak but risks that room may look shabby. Needs replacement.
Beds comfortable. Good hot water and a bath welcome now I have gone shower-only at home. Good restaurant partner - excellent for a "special" evening meal. Room large enough. Cupboards and wardrobes ample.

CanadaI've stayed here 5 times and was used to the included breakfast being full English. That's changed to continental. Hot options are available for added cost. And Peter who was an institution as the breakfast server has retired. I truly hope Peter that you enjoy your retirement. You deserve it after so many years delivering such great customer service.
basic room. clean. Space to relax and move around, but could be a bit cramped for two people. Kettle - so my tea did not taste like left over coffee. Windows open - mine faced the courtyard and was nicely quiet. Location - 90 second walk to the Gloucester Rd tube station. 5 to 10 minute walk south to a couple of great pubs. Staff are very friendly and helpful.

United KingdomThe lift was out of order, which is unacceptable when faced with eight flights of steap stairs and suitcases after walking all day. Also, the staff in the morning restaurant and perhaps even the evening one also, could be friendlier and just slightly better at English.
The location, the competitive price, the Indian restaurant was brilliant food.

United KingdomI specifically booked the hotel so I could have a bath. The room did indeed have a bath, however the bathtub did not have a plug so the bath itself was in the event useless as a bath and purely decorative. I phoned reception but understandably perhaps they didn't have a a supply of spare bathplugs at the ready. Also, I don't normally use lifts, but on this occasion I probably would have done, however it was out of action.
Nice large room on the third floor. I realized I had actually stay in the same room before. It's a good size, well specified and with a good comfortable
