How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

We had asked for some extra pillows during our stay and were told by a few different members of staff that there were none available. This is the first and only time in any hotel that has ever happened to us. We did finally manage to talk to someone who had no problem finding us some. I wonder if it was a staff or a hotel issue.
The Moxy is a nice new property very close to central bus and train lines. The rooms are small but very clean and modern. For the price is has everything you need and most of the staff were great!

The lightness was terrible , the size of the room was not convenient . The a/c you could not change it to cold or heat very easy so it was chilly
The location, the shower, the pressure of the water, very clean.

Lift was broken while we were there as didn’t go first floor so was a bit tricky after drinking , but I prefer stairs anyway , just a bit of a problem if your unable to use them
The room itself was beautiful and very comfortable, the staff were professional and had free drink at the bar which was nice . Also the quick checkout box was handy as we left quite early and had no time to checkout at desk . So appreciated that a lot

A shame there isn’t any cheaper parking options but I used JustPark App to find a cheap parking spot so it was fine in the end

A very charming property with a nice restaurant that included breakfast. It was very comfortable and clean. We were there for only one night but it would be a great place if you were spending several days in Bristol.

Honestly, nothing. Great hotel in a great central location. Exceptional value for money.
Really enjoyed the quirkiness of the hotel. It is very impressive on arrival (and smelt wonderful!) The hotel had lots of facilities to use and was impressed by their attention to detail. Despite the hotel being ultra modern and unique it was still very cosy/welcoming. The room was also very pleasant, it was very clean and the bed was very comfortable. A lovely snug room.

Location is good in terms of being central but on an intense road. We didn't hear it but it is a trafficy place.
The family rooms were fantastic. spacious all round with a great bathroom. Comfortable beds. tvs. space for dog. Great bar downstairs and really convenient for city and parking is nearby.

The fact my stay wasn't longer.
My first time staying in a Moxy Hotel. I cannot say enough good things about the staff or the hotel itself. Room was excellent, bed was perfect for me. Breakfast was great, good selection of food with healthy options including smoothies. Location is a close two minute walk to main shopping area. Special shout out to Michael and Mia for going the extra mile to look after me! Thanks guys.

Squeeky door, we sorted, pillows too full, couldn't use them, hurt my neck so used a folded towel, led lights at the end of the bed woke us up a bit, but small things comparatively
Wonderful choice for breakfast loved it! Nice and low key no expectations, we went to relax and did.
