Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomArrived back at hotel bar at 11.40pm for a relaxing drink before heading to room, to be told bar was closed. Was informed the hotel was closing next day, assume for repair or refurbishment as scaffolding was on building outside but wasnt told why. Asked if we could have one drink, said it would he 3 less drinks to pack away if bar was needing cleared but was told no. Strange time to be closed at 11.40, we thought it would be anout 12. We stayed in bar and played a couple of games of tabletop football and then headed to room. Would have been nice to finish off day with a wee drink along with games, alas it was not to be. The bar/reception area is open plan and has music coming from speakers high in the ceiling, which is not loud but definitely not quiet background music. Unfortunately, our family room no. 134 was right above the bar/reception area, which we didn't realise until the repetitive piped in music started up again at 6 am the next morning and woke us up! It wasn't loud but with it feeling like it was coming up through the pillows, the constant repetitive beat of the music kept us awake and wasnt a relaxing lie in as we would have liked it to be. We had a "soundproof " room, so it was quiet. Mentioned to reception/bar person when we went for breakfast and they said they had no control over music as was on a timer and couldn't turn down. Something to think about if we book this hotel again. Would definitely ask for room on floor higher up away from the reception area.
Lovely hotel, spotless and clean with nice atmosphere and friendly staff. Had family room for 3 friends and plenty room. Breakfast basic, not a massive choice but good all the same. Couple of wee issues but would book this hotel again.

United KingdomLack of hanging & surface space to put anything on is very frustrating. Room was airless & too hot, even with heating turned off. Found a long dark hair in one of the beds which wasn't ours (both blonds) which was a bit icky. Would really like irons in rooms or to borrow from reception - find the whole ironing room thing a bit of a nuisance.
Excellent location in Merchant City with loads of social venues nearby. Nice staff, comfy beds, good shower & toiletries. Nice lighting options in room. Very dog friendly. Good value for money despite a couple of things which could be improved on.

The location is also great, very close to Merchant quarters where we went for food and cocktails after some shopping. A great hotel for a weekend away, would definitely reccommend and would stay again

United StatesEverything was great!
I was only here for one night but it was a great hotel! The outside with all the scaffolding was off-putting at first but then you enter the hotel and it was cute, clean and very welcoming. After a week and half traveling around Scotland, it was nice to fall into the comfy bed!

United KingdomLast orders at the bar at 12am was quite early for hotel residents! Didn’t matter to us as it was a Thursday night but I’d have been disappointed if we’d not had work the next day and were planning to make a night of it!

United KingdomNot the hotels fault but guest behaviour - random guy in his pants knocking at the door (eventually got thrown out as I heard). Every night someone destroyed the do not disturb sign which I had to replace. Then Saturday morning 2 men sat at the table next to us for breakfast who were not guests however looking for somewhere for a pint having been out all night full of class A’s as they put it. Ironically they were well mannered if a bit unaware they were unwelcome in conversation. Bread for breakfast was rock hard - obviously yesterday’s offering left sitting out in the basket. That is basic and hence poor. Staff dealt with most of this well however it feels like too much to be a coincidence - perhaps the hotel draws that crowd (and I am far from a prude and was in Glasgow for a concert / beer weekend myself)
