How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.

There was no negatives for this little gem of a place & we have no hesitation in recommending it to family/friends :) We shall return! :)
Nancy's Cabin was a truly great find for us as a couple for visiting family in the area :) It was a wee 'home' away from home ;) The Cabin is to the side of owner's home. It is private with it's own outdoor seating area however Sonia & Bill (owner's) were so friendly & welcoming and allow socialising also (if you/s wish) in their own back garden where there is more outside seating & table/chairs for alfresco dining! The Cabin was spotlessly clean, warm & comfortable, an excellent shower & the two telly's made for 'not putting up' with each other's choices of what to watch!!! The kitchen area was perfect for light meals and had everything that one needed for a most enjoyable stay. The cereals & milk provided as well as some tea/coffee/sugar & some biscuits made for a welcome snack after a long car journey. Many thanks for providing this.

Lovely and clean on arrival, with the ambiant lighting and heating on. Everything was there that was needed and the hosts communicated plans for arrival and to see if every was alright. Great location, and would come back, so recommended from me.🍷

Nothing everything was perfect
The Cabin was lovely, cosy, and clean, it was only a quick stay as I was attending a Sunday wedding and up early the next day. I got a little lost trying to find the Cabin and read the street name wrong but Sonia was lovely and came out to find me and kept calling to make sure I was okay. I’d only walked 8 minutes from the wedding venue but Sonia had said I should of rang her and she would of picked me up from the venue, which was such a lovely thing to say ! It was like having my own mum with me! Sonia popped some milk and cereal in the fridge for me so I could have an early breakfast before I headed off to work which was very thoughtful. A very short but sweet stay and the cabin was much bigger than I anticipated - lots of space and such a warm and welcoming host where nothing seemed to be too much trouble ! Would highly recommend a stay in Nancy’s Cabin!

The Fridge was quite small, struggled to put all my food in other than that, host were very nice and welcoming.
Everything was lovely 😍 Enjoyed the facilities and the cabin was warm and quiet. Complimentary breakfast and milk but we didn't use as we had our own food. Aldi was 3mins away which was great. Everything was Nice and clean in the cabin.

It was a little chilly when we arrived on a cold day, but there were lots of heaters so it soon warmed up and there were throws for additional warmth. The remote for the bedroom TV didn't work properly, which meant we couldn't use it. It was late by the time we realised this so was not a major inconvenience.
Beautifully furnished little cabin. Very clean and well fitted and supplied.

Bed was a bit bouncy but we slept like logs.
Difficult to mark Nancy's Cabin as it is a one-off but amazingly good value. Watched the US tennis final in our own lounge on a huge TV screen! It was all exactly as described on Booking.com - no surprises. It would have been useful to know there was milk in the fridge

there was nothing I didn’t like I had to leave early due to family emergency that’s the part i didn’t like 😭, but can not fault this cabin or the hosts.
the property can be off putting to some being on the owners land, but please don’t let this put you off, the hosts (sonia and bill) where welcoming from the off, they were so inviting and literally offered a cup of tea or anything we needed, directions to pubs/restaurants and nice scenic walks etc, you couldn’t get any nicer of people and hosts, the cabin is absolutely beautiful with EVERYTHING you could want or need! literally a home from home. thank you for the time we spent there sonia wish it could have been longer! see you both soon 😊
