Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomBeing extremely picky the only thing that could be improved are the complimentary 'Welsh cakes' in the room which are too thin and not representative of a true Welsh cake
The staff were excellent friendly welcoming and informative, the building itself has been sympathetically restored and retains a lot of it's original charm

AustraliaNothing!
Probably the nicest place we stayed on our whole trip. So lovely to have space for us to go for walks and try to coax the sheep over to say hello, after being in the car for a while. We stayed in the Swinburne and Prince Charles rooms which were so quiet. Lovely comfy beds and fabulous breakfast. Also great spots to sit and read or relax around the house.Would highly recommend this place!

United KingdomAlthough not feasible in the type of property, a lift would have been most welcome for my elderly mother in law. But not a negative.
I was looking for something special as a treat for my mother in law and the hotel/mansion house was everything I had hoped for from the grounds to the interiors. Both of our suites were lovely.

United KingdomAmazing place to stay, all the staff were lovely and welcoming. The staff also made our dog feel very welcome, making our stay even more enjoyable. Our room was lovely and spacious, maybe a chez longue at the end of the bed would have been useful. The dining experience was delightful with all the history of the building clear to see. Will definitely be back!

United KingdomThe only hiccup was, we arrived on the Thursday afternoon knowing the restaurant was closed so we drove into town to get a bite to eat and we couldn't book a meal in the restaurant on the Friday as it was fully booked so again we went out into the town to a splendid restaurant and ate there. Best thing to do is to book your meals early 👌
Beautiful Mansion to stay if your looking for a retreat break, switch off from busy life and take a step back in time. The Mansion itself, it's grounds, it's history many relics and original pieces remain and tie in well with its overall look. Very clean, staff amazing, breakfast was delicious served by knowledgeable staff. This Mansion has quite a past, you can imagine yourselves ladies floating down its splendid staircase in a silk gown. Worth a visit, 5 minutes drive to the wonderful Welsh Aberystwyth town.

We had a lovely stay at the Nantos. The staff (Alec) were very welcoming upon arrival. Alec was extremely helpful and happy to explain the history of the hotel. We were taken to our room which was absolutely perfect. Our room was very large with an equally large bathroom. It was all lovely and very warm with many radiators. We had to choose our breakfast the day before. There was quite a wide choice and something to suit all pallets. We had taken our small dog and he was treated so kindly by all the staff and even offered a sausage on the mornings for breakfast. The reception staff were very helpful. We were looking for a nice beach to visit and was suggested to visit Ynyslas. We infact visited the Ynyslas Nature Reserve which was stunning. We didn’t eat in the hotel but there was plenty on offer In Aberystwyth. Again Alec offered suggestions on where to eat or have take outs. We both loved the hotel and would definitely return if in the area.

United KingdomEverything was exceptional - the location (close to Aberystwyth), the great condition of the long private lane to the mansion (passing a lovely lake and a wooded area accessible over a small footbridge), ample parking space and of course, the majestic Grade 1 mansion which is set in open countryside. The warm Welsh welcome by the Receptionist was delightful - diolch yn fawr! The deluxe double room on the second floor was accessed via a sweeping oak stairway and a dazzling huge chandelier adorned the area. The large bedroom was well heated and the bed was very comfortable. The modern bathroom was well stocked with ample toiletries and several fluffy towels. The full Welsh breakfast served in the beautiful dining room was extremely tasty. Excelkent customer service by both members of staff - I will definitely return soon!
