Very nice and friendly pub/hotel . Good location for my activity, trout fishing and we’re happy to store our fish overnight in the fridges.

A local stretch of the Thames path has been closed for months (it is now April 2024) for bridge work, and might not reopen for a while.

This was an old inn, comfortable and easy-going but not smart. Our room (first-floor double) was well lit and had a nice view of the curving high street, Good parking at the back, through an arch. Lechlade is a small market town on the upper Thames, with an 18th-century bridge. The long-distance Thames footpath runs past. Only a few miles away (walking distance for the fit) there is a National Trust house, Buscot Park, and also Kelmscott, once the home of William Morris, also often open to the public. In Buscot church there are several stained-glass windows by his friend and artistic associate, Burne-Jones.

While having a drink in the bar we weren't impressed with someone vaping on the adjacent table. We found the shower tray very slippery my wife nearly slipped over needs a slip matt.

Comfortable bed ,clean staff friendly and welcoming.

We paid £116 to stay, which didn't include breakfast. I felt this was very expensive, as the room was quite basic, although had everything we needed. The windows in the room don't open, which was fine in spring, but it might get hot in the summer. Our room was by the stairs, so you could hear people walking up and down, but we still had a good night's sleep.

Lovely old building in a nice location within easy reach of the Cotswolds. We stayed in room 36 in April, which was a reasonable size, clean and warm. The bed was comfy and the shower was good. There is a small selection of shops, cafes and restaurants right outside and a riverside pub 5 minutes walk away. The cafe next door opens early for breakfast although this hotel also offers breakfast for an extra charge. Lots of free car parking. The staff were very nice and friendly and allowed us to check in an hour early.

"MASSES of fresh fruit with Greek Yoghourt"? Loads of lovely yoghourt but about 20 grapes and a couple of strawberries? - Masses? A bit mean I thought! I suppose I should have listed my normal serving : A small banana, a small pear, a kiwi fruit, 110 gm grapes (plus some grapefruit and prunes, if available as in some hotels) The room: the lighting was wired up wrongly(?) Whichever switch was operated ALL the lights (both bedsides plus ceiling) were ON or OFF. Also the washbasin plug operation needed adjusting to actually allow the basin to empty!

An effort was made to comply with my special request for breakfast BUT - see below. The room was fine but a few specific niggles - see below. Two dinners I had in the restaurant were very good.

On this occasion as I understand the cleaning staff weren’t on holiday. Another member of staff cleaned the bathroom and did leave behind a used bar of soap but not the end of the world. Waiting staff who was also the cleaner on this occasion was not very attentive at breakfast and the chefs bell for service rang at least twice to get her attention

Good location for the church! Good bar area and nice little dining room

Very little to dislike. The quilt could have been bigger but the bed was very comfortable so didn’t impact our sleep. Some road noise was evident as we sleep with windows open but we had anticipated that due to location. Once windows were closed, double glazing shut out all noise.

Excellent restaurant and food, staff were very helpful and always available if needed. Very comfortable room

I can not find any fault with the property, especially at the prices they charge. Great value for money, no complaints from me or the rest of my group.

The staff were super friendly and welcoming. Whilst the rooms are more on the basic side, they have everything you need after a long days walking, they are clean, warm and comfortable. The food is exceptional and the atmosphere is lovely. The staff couldn't have been more helpful and the location of the hotel is perfect.
