Would say property was in need of an update. windows/blind were dirty. The bathroom wasn’t in the best condition, shower curtain was dirty at the bottom and the shower went cold after one shower. Also the shower curtain would stick to you while showering but was unable to not use it as the floor would have got flooded. The toilet had no toilet lid. These are obviously only minor issues and could be resolved easily.

The property is spacious, warm, with a stunning view of the river. Had a large fridge/freezer, toiletries, washing up items. New Lanark is a beautiful place. We could use the pool/gym facilities (towels supplied) in the hotel which was a nice bonus.

The bath needs a bit of tlc, it was very tired looking and in need of updating, it filled with water when shower was on making it very slippy. The couches were in need of a clean, a lot of stains and dirty marks.

It could have been a bit cleaner & our cottage just looked a bit tired. When I rolled down the blind, there was a squished dead spider on it. The toaty wee couch was really uncomfortable too. The stairs of death leading down to the bedroom are not for the faint hearted either

I liked that it was pet friendly & that the bedroom was a good size. The views and walks were amazing and they had put a lot of thought and effort into the santa experience

Areas within the property were unclean. Muck in base of wardrobe. Food crust in fridge drawers. Some kitchenware required to be washed before use (some could be discarded and replaced). Pots and pans too small to cook a meal for four. Used glass left in bedroom from previous guests.

Great price for four people for two nights. Spacious accommodation. Beautiful location. Swimming pool area perfect.

The only little thing was we booked a two bed lodge but only had a one bed allocated (No.5).

The property is exceptional with all of hotel facilities and rooms directly onto river, a really comfortable and relaxing place to stay and the incerdible experience of being in the the world heritage site of New Lanark. It really was an outstanding experience.

Although it was very good accommodation , it was just in need of some TLC.

I stayed in one of the Waterhouses, which are directly on the river with lovely views. You enter into a spacious hallway that leads into a lounge with a well equipped kitchenette. The bedroom was downstairs and very spacious. There is also plenty of free parking.

The water was immediately dangerously hot. The bathroom was well equipped. However, had no grab rail for exiting the bath/shower. The top part of the staircase had only one handrail.

The cottages were spacious and comfortable. They were well equipped for a family trip. It was in an excellent location with lots to do. The swimming pool and spa facilities were excellent. The staff were very helpful. There had been a slight mix up with our booking and it was dealt with with no hesitation.

Waterhouse could do with more cutlery and crockery as there was only one of everything per person which meant constantly having to wash up. Didn't spoil the overall experience though.

Bathroom had an unpleasant smell and the shower curtain was poorly designed for the bath - very difficult to take a proper shower. Overall decor had an institutional feel, could do with a makeover.

There were some relatively minor maintenance needs within the cottage - the most significant being the kitchen light not working.

Amazing location, just by virtue of being in New Lanark itself - but even more so with the river right outside. Access to swimming pool was an excellent bonus, where staff were very welcoming and helpful.
