Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SwitzerlandThe kitchen lacked a bit of cleaning stuff etc. which were, however, provided quickly upon asking. A problem was the non-functioning elevator. When booking, we did not realize that our rooms were on the top floor with long and steep staircases. As one of our group had difficulties climbing stairs, in particular downwards, this was quite difficult. As all the accommodations we have so far stayed at in London were equipped with an elevator, it never came to my mind that, if our rooms were tighter up, there would not be an elevator. We would love to stay at this place again, but only with a working elevator.
2 Queensberry Place between South Kensington and Gloucester Road Tube Station is excellent. Further to the tube stations, there are also a couple of buses running with stops nearby, The rooms (penthouse) were good, the living room very spacious.

EstoniaThere was hassle with Stayo's separate booking portal (I had problems with accessing it and had to upload a photo of my passport two times while the system threatenes that if I don't manage to do it, my booking will be cancelled). Also, the shower design was very impractical.
The location was superb for a family wanting to visit the Natural History Museum. The layout of the flat was also comfortable, there was everything we needed.

United KingdomThe lift was out of order which meant we had to haul our suitcases and ourselves up numerous flights of stairs to the penthouse.
The location was perfect- 5 min walk from the tube and you can see the natural history museum from the front doorstep. The interior was immaculate- bright and clean and beautifully furnished.

FinlandThe lift seems to be permanently out of operation, so if you have any knee or leg issues you should look for something different (or make sure to get the room on the ground floor). There's also a building site next to the property, so there's a fair amount of sounds coming from that during working hours, from 8-17. Otherwise the rooms were very quiet and only faint sounds from emergency vehicles could be heard in evening & night time.
The location of this "hotel" was perfect, being within a short walking distance from the South Kensington tube station, allowing direct access to the District and Circle lines, which go to a lot of the sights in London. There was a bit of faff getting the key app and logging in to the guest portal, but getting that done at home before the trip meant everything went quite smoothly while on location (however we didn't figure out how to get the key code loaded to my wife's app so we essentially only had one key). We had booked a suite, which consisted of a bedroom and a living room/kitchen, with a small sofa bed suitable for two children. The kitchen was well equipped, with a large induction stove, oven, fridge, dishwasher and washing machine as well as pots and pans in good condition (but no microwave). There was only two dish washer tablets, however, so consider bringing a few of your own if you will stay more than a couple of days. Similarly the free shampoo and conditioner was one each of those small hotel bottles so won't take you very far. There's a well equipped Waitrose supermarket next to the Gloucester Street tube station, a 5-10 minute walk away, and some smaller convenience stores even closer.
