How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
Guidelines and standards for Reviews

Nothing.
Ideal situation on the edge of the town centre. Public car-park (pay-parking) and Sainsburys supermarket are both a very short walk away. Very nicely furnished, decorated and maintained. The owners kept in touch by email with clear guidance for access etc and useful advice for restaurants and places of interest. We have stayed here before and hope to do so again.

Nothing not to like!
Everything about the apartment/cottage spoke of beautiful quality, from the deep egg shaped bath, the well-equipped kitchen and the under-floor heating. There were little touches like the blankets on the back of the sofas and the reusable shopping bag hung on the coat rail, and the hot towel rail in the bathroom. I loved everything about it! It was also very close to town.

No on site parking is a pity (always checking the meter). A slightly bigger bed would have been nice

What a lovely place to stay in Sherborne. Everything you could need had been included in this beautiful little apartment. A great space to stay for a few days and wonderfully clean. Perfect location for walking in and around the town. The hosts were really helpful before, during and after my stay. I was even able to check in early, which was an unexpected bonus on a chilly Sunday afternoon. Definitely a gem of a find in Sherborne.

It's a shame bedroom faced the road with a little early passing traffic noise, but that's nothing you can change! Restricted daytime parking.
Clean modern apartment with everything you could need. Comfortable and practical. Short walk to town, pubs, restaurants and railway. Excellent communication from owners with clear directions, information and everything to assist a visitor to the area.

Clean, spacious and comfortable. Had everything we could need. Great location in the town, and Sherborne is beautiful. Very helpful hosts answering any queries promptly. Parking turned out to be so easy, either on the roadside or in the long term Carpark a very short distance away. The railway station is also a couple of minutes walk away - very handy for a day excursion.

There was nothing about the property that we didn't like. As an aside, the extractor fan in the bathroom didn't work nor did the bathroom thermostat but these didn't detract from our enjoyment

Too many complex high tech gadgets.Hob cooker and microwave too complicated.Hissed drawers and not easy to find equipment. Bathroom not really practical not enough flat surfaces and sink too small.Not terrible just a bit of guesswork I phoning the owners and working it out e.g. key safe button faulty.

Patchy internet at times., but then we didn’t stay to sit in from of our screens. Some noise from neighbouring property.
From the moment we pulled up outside the property we knew we had made the right choice.. Quiet location, despite being a short walk from Sherborne’s restaurants and bars, handy drop off area for property behind electric gates. No parking at property, but two parking options close by , at a very good price via a parking app. Property decorated , and furnished to a high spec. Welcoming little touches from Tony and Sarah, little things that you might not think to pack, or want to go out and buy straight away, milk, coffee, biscuits.despite Sainsbury’s being a short walk away. Sherborne is full of many independent shops, restaurants, and coffee shops not the generic usual, which is one of the reasons to get out and explore.
