How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

The water was warm from both sides “cold” as well.

Although our apartment was for 4 people, the living area only accommodated 2. There was only 1 sofa, and there were 2 chairs at the dining table.

Nothing apart from coffee machine was faulty but still managed to make a drink in the end.
The property was immaculately presented. Beautiful decor and very clean. Great facilities, lovely shower, coffee and tea facilities. Very welcoming on arrival and all information provided for the stay. Location was absolutely perfect for central Birmingham, right near bars and restaurants and the building the apartment is situated in is absolutely BEAUTIFUL! Loved our stay. Thank you so much!

No Aircon, it got very stuffy even though all Windows we're open.

Nothing much to voice my concerns about, except two issues that were a bit off-putting - TV should be adjoining the bed and the bathroom was too small without a hose or a shower head with a hose, things that are more flexible to fit all types of visitors. As well, it would be great if the checkin and checkout times are longer than they are. The place is not really run as a hotel property, but more like an apartment place, so that makes sense though.
Very central location, close to the main railway station of Brum (New Street) and littered with shops all around the place. The main shopping mall Bullring and shopping centre is also within 10 mins walking distance. The bed was awesome and very snuggly, just the way I prefer it. The amenities inside the apartment made it apt for a short stay should you choose to cook a bit etc.

Property overlooks backs of buildings, which evidently includes the backs of bars, so there is late night noise from glass bottles being emptied into bins. I’ve stayed with Waterloo St at least three times now though, so it’s clearly survivable, and I’d rather come back here than certain other apartments I’ve stayed in nearby!
Very convenient location. Reasonably priced, especially considering the location and when compared to others nearby. have stayed in three different apartments here, this was the smallest, but all are comfortable, clean and secure.

Not the property's fault - we stayed at a busy time of year for the nearby pubs/restaurants and the noise of the bottles being emptied could keep some awake if a light sleeper...
Spacious and well equipped. Comfortable bed and fantastic walk in shower. Comfortable lounge with TV and coffee table. Additional table for eating at if you wanted to. Would stay again and have recommended to other friends
