Ordered flowers and wine in the room for my partners 60th birthday, a bit disappointed that they were not there. No decent explication why?

Friendly staff Hotel was clean and tidy throughout, the evening meal and breakfast were excellent

A bit tired and ground floor room accessed via a fire escape, not sure room was that secure as same key opened fire door& room so presumably also opened other rooms on the corridor??

Very central location in town and lovely breakfast.

Didn't like 10% optional surcharge. Thought it was something added because of breakage spills etc. embarrassing for guests to ask to have it removed. I don't agree with this tripping rubbish. American's keep it in your country it's not our way, it's insidious.

The prices of the hotel accommodation are very variable (even for midweek) although normally we would be going off season but we decided to stay after an event in Windsor.

We are regulars at this hotel so we know what to expect: good for a stroll, easy access to Moreton in Marsh & Blockley & places of interest. Una on reception was pleasant, polite & efficient. The food ( we chose to eat in the bar area) was nicely presented & tasty.

The room was one by the carpark which was fine but the bins were close which was noisy as kitchen staff using them all evening and security light kept coming on which was very disturbing as we retire early

Breakfast was lovely and ordered night before to save on waste which I prefer

Choosing a breakfast time felt a bit weird, meant I didn’t feel like I could sleep in. Discretionary service charge of 10% was added to our room bill, for no apparent reason, which I removed. £20 to secure an early check-in felt cheeky. Room on its own was quite expensive.

Spacious room with a comfortable bed. Able to accommodate an early check-in which was excellent. Really good location for the wedding we attended.

Breakfast! It was dreadful and such a contrast to the rest of our stay. The buffet was a pretty mean offering and the staff didn’t keep it topped up. The coffee was so weak it was tasteless. The cooked offering was bland and unappetising plus the portions incredibly mean in size.

Lovely hotel. Room very simple but very comfortable and spacious with everything we could need. The same for the bathroom. Again, a simple layout but equally spacious and comfortable. We slept well on comfortable beds. Staff were very welcoming and friendly and couldn’t have been nicer. We also had dinner in the restaurant which was delicious. We had a good menu to choose from and portions were generous and very tasty.

    Lovely English Cotswold Inn

This inn is in a town with good Cotswold walks. We booked knowing that it was a historical inn and somewhat rustic so not wanting or expecting modern luxury. However , the room was lovely and large with a large bathroom. The pub was lovely and seemed to be a local gathering place. Very nice. Dinner was very good and Also a very good breakfast was included. Would definitely recommend for a country stay.

Nice, characterful hotel with fantastic restaurant but rooms need updating.

The fabric of the hotel is very old and the rooms haven't been updated to 'boutique' level. Our bed was very comfortable but our room was quite noisy having single glazing facing the Main Street. Dated bathroom too with a drench shower over the bath. TV bracket was very loose. Heating/cooling was via a portable electric heater and a plug-in fan! No EV chargers at this hotel but we were offered a charge at their sister hotel across the road. However, when we heard the cost (£15 per hour) we decided to pass! This needs to change.

Staff were all friendly and attentive. Lobby area, restaurant and cafe were nicely presented. Sunday lunch in the restaurant was epic. Some of our group of six went for traditional roast dinners while others sampled the magnificent asian dishes. All were fantastic - including the gluten free option. A real hidden gem!

Evening meal menu was good but did not contain ‘simple food’ which would have suited us. Restaurant bookings were at capacity.

Room was comfortable and clean, breakfast just right. Secure parking was what we needed.
