Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomQuite an old bath and shower- adequate.
Comfortable room. Very comfortable bed. Lovely fluffy towels. Parking on site. Excellent breakfast. A most pleasant surprise to have breakfast served to the table. With hot food cooked to order and toast and coffee brought to the table. Fairly unusual these days as so many hotels have a serve yourself buffet bar. Dinner - was okay. A cousin joined me for the meal. Good service, a reasonable choice and we weren't hurried.

United KingdomBreakfast looked lovely however lacked taste. When we received the bill at check out a service charge of £24 had been added, I don't agree with this, and people should know about this prior to their stat. We came back to have a couple of drinks in the hotel bar, at the end of the day (10pm) however the staff wanted to cash up early, we were not the only ones, people came in after us, I think if a hotel states a bar or other areas are open until a certain time, they should stick to this.
Fabulous location, room 6 is very unique with an old wooden, overhead 4 poster bed, in line with the era of the building. Very clean and tidy with private parking.

Friendly, helpful and efficient staff throughout the hotel, comfortable bedrooms, great bar and restaurant and fabulous coffee shop. Food in the reataurant was excellent and breakfast well worth the money. Perfectly positioned as a base for exploring the Cotswolds and ample parking behind the hotel.

United StatesI have no complaints.
The location was perfect - right across the street from the start (for us) of the Cotswold Way. The staff was friendly, the room clean and comfortable. We did not eat dinner there, but the breakfast was very good.

United StatesOur room was very hot. We realized the second day that we were located over the laundry room. Maybe that’s the reason it was so warm, but it was uncomfortable.
Loved the location in the Cotswolds! Room was nice and spacious, bed was comfortable.

United KingdomObviously an old property which would imply the odd creak. The creaking floorboards throughout the corridors made it difficult to ignore someone walking past the room door. The corridors to the rooms also had very uneven floors likely to be the main cause of the creaking floorboards, but gave a funhouse feeling. The room was incredibly warm. We had to leave the fan on all night which was thankfully already in the room. I would have put it down to the pleasant weather, but friends were staying in a room 2 doors down which was a comfortable temperature and really made the difference in heat of our room noticeable. The mattress was also incredibly firm. It is obviously a personal preference for a softer mattress but the stiffness of the mattress did contribute to the comfort for myself and my husband.
The property is located central to the town. The building is well kept and continues the rustic theme of the entire town. Parking is very convenient. The staff were fantastic, very friendly, helpful and polite. The food was delicious and fairly priced for the area. Although we did not take our dog the welcome of dogs was a pleasant experience. The rooms were clean with great facilities.

United KingdomBedroom furniture needs attention (wardrobe door didn't close properly and a chest of drawers would be useful).

United Kingdomsee above - breakfast
Perfect location, the hotel was absolutely fine and decent staff. Personally I was a little disappointed by breakfast. It verged on the basic and I found the cooked ingredients at best ok, and feel for very little extra cost could have been so much better quality. The quality was disappointing, and as a result rather tasteless. I am sure with more prudent ordering you could procure better quality bacon, sausages etc probably at marginal if at all additional cost

United KingdomNothing!
The old style hotel with lots of character and uneven floors with characterful rooms. The bedroom was very comfortable with a nice bathroom and a bath. It was very quiet too. I had a bar meal which was very good and the bar staff were very friendly and working hard. Breakfast was very good and the staff were attentive. I would stay again when visiting my Mother another time. I did manage to park right outside as the car park was full but it was Easter Saturday. Parking over the road is chargeable from 7 -7 every single day so be aware. The area is still lovely, although much busier than it was when I lived there in the 1970s!
