We were on the 5th floor and found the ceilings along the corridor rather low with me being over 6ft tall I had to duck to avoid the lighting, also the rooms are not brilliant if there are people staying next to you that are talking and making a noise all night, wanted to complain in the morning but the staff on reception desk were more interested in doing stuff on computer rather than pay attention to the guests.

The location was perfect for what we wanted, room was ok apart from the floor which was very uneven but not a problem, the bed was comfy and if you are not used to a hard bed then you may have difficulty sleeping, we had a Seaview room and I think in the summer would be excellent.

Being moved because the room we were given a key for was in pieces, literally. The second room was a room with a wardrobe hiding a door to an adjoining room, in this adjoining room were placed a very noisy family of adults and children, we were woken up at 11pm by shouting kids and noisy parents that sounded like they were in our room, which really they were since it wad a suite of rooms with the door blocked by a wardrobe badly screwed to the door frame with 2 twisted weak brackets. Another move...... Dinner was rather like a bad school dinner, not much choice and the vegetables were very undercooked, lack of puddings coming out quick enough. It wasn't nice that the pool was being cleaned while people were swimming in it, this large pipe made the swimming area smaller and smaller, in the end I got out and waited, which made me cold even with my towel. For clarification we were in the pool already when they decided to clean it. We weren't told the complete dinner times when we checked in, we found out we could have had earlier, the young man who checked us in showed a lack of knowing information, or he just couldn't be bothered to inform us of some things. Same with the information on swimming, I didn't know I would need coins for the lockers and I had to ask how much it would cost per swim session even though when we booked in we had mentioned the swimming and asked for information. It is a shame as this was our Ruby wedding Anniversary and certain things were very disappointing. :(

We enjoyed the breakfast, the location was nice, some staff were friendly.

The smokers area in the doorway. I felt like I had had a cigarette each time we walked in and out of the building. Lack of cleaning. We didn't feel like we could use the bath and large cobwebs and dirty mirrors and windows. We couldn't take our shoes off in the rooms as the carpet felt cold and damp. Continue the castle theme inside.

House entertainment and comfey beds. Away from the centre so away from the hens and stags. The kids loved the castle appearance from the outside.

The price of the drinks 2 drinks at the bar at night, cost me £18. Very pricey. Also told receptionist about not being able to sleep due to the family next door. Bagging on the door, the walls, kids screaming. They tried to get into my room on numerous occasions. When I opened the door they laughed in my face saying it’s only 1 of my kids. No apology. Had to book an extra night as my son is autistic and need to sleep extra. Receptionist wasn’t bothered what I was saying. Never took no information off me. Regarding my complaint.

I noticed the hotel has been getting refurbished. Which is nice to see. The show at night time was amazing. Beautiful scenery.

Mould in hallways, uneven floors. Room 259- Stain on the bedding. Crumbs on the floor. Bathroom hadn't been fully cleaned properly. Two towels, hand sized. One pillow each (couldn't sleep properly as neck was sore) TV was awkwardly positioned and the view from the window was disgusting. Only paid £32 so I guess I should've expected less but not the nicest of stays.

Glad we received coffee and tea in the room as a bare minimum.
