Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomTypical British weather was the only downside to our stay.
Lovely location, with a short walk to the beach. Accommodation had everything needed with some very personal touches to make you feel at home. Bed very comfy with plenty of fresh linen. Breakfast for self catering consisted of collecting items from kitchen to cook in your chalet, lovely fresh eggs and bread from local bakery, cereals, yogurts and a variety of spreads. Staff were really pleasant and more than ready to help with any queries. Would definitely go back again.

The accommodation was very clean and had everything needed for our three night stay. Breakfast was plentiful delivered outside your room. Lovely fresh eggs from their chickens. The bed was very comfortable and we loved the skylight above the bed. Nigel and Carol were very welcoming on arrival. Ideal location for the beach. Nice long walks either way. Warm welcome by Nigel on arrival and shown to Misty. Stayed for 2 blissful nights. 2 adults plus Wilson the dog. Accommodation looked rustic from the outside, part of an old animal barn. Inside was modern, airy and light. Everything we needed other than a pint of milk as Tea, Coffee were provided. Bed was lovely and comfortable and we slept well for both nights as did the dog 🐾 Hand washes, shower gels, towels all provided along with biscuits and some cereals. Breakfast was included, short walk to get your tray and choose what you wanted, eggs which you cook back in your accommodation, orange juice, milk, a selection of Breads, crumpets, scones, pancakes, cereals and fruit along with condiments, everything you need, Genius I thought! Good size shower and plenty of storage. Short walk to the beach for the most amazing sunsets. The plan was to have a peaceful break and this totally delivered. I will definitely be going back! Absolutely loved it.

United KingdomFortunately I always travel with an eye mask as I like a room to be dark whilst I sleep. This was necessary for me as there was a skylight above the bed.
I like a quiet location and this couldn't have been quieter. Everything you needed in the room including a kitchenette. Fresh eggs for breakfast, laid by the owner's hens. Just a few minutes walk to the beach.

United KingdomNothing we can think off.
When we arrived the host, Nigel, was waiting for us and guided us to our own parking space. Our chalet was ready and as it was a cold day the heating had been turned on so the chalet was lovely and warm. The room was clean and had everything we would need for our stay. We loved the skylight and wish we had one at home! The beach really is two minutes away. The hosts Carol and Nigel were lovely and we would definitely stay there again.

United KingdomRoom was a little cobweb-y and shower pressure isn't great (although this was pointed out). Check in / out was a little tricky as it was hard to find staff but they were great.
Great location close to a quiet beach. Ideal place for for taking a dog. Felt safe in the room as a solo traveller. Nice bonus to have breakfast provided and hosts had plenty of recommendations for evening meals. Room was cosy and had everything we needed. Overall would return as it was a good base to explore from in the day, with local pubs and beach walks in the evening.

United KingdomLocation was just perfect, 2 min walk to Heacham beach, which was amazing, some times had the whole beach to ourselves (my dog and I) visited in early March and weather was mild. No tourists around. My cosy well equiped chalet was so comfortable and the bed and duvet were lush. Breakfast was continental. The place was in a farm complex, with cottages, shepherd's huts and these 4 studio chalets available to stay in. There are new showers, toilets etc for the small campsite being formed. The couple that run the complex are extremely friendly, helpful, and I really enjoyed my short break stay and recommend this site,
