Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

SingaporeThe guests living in the upper floors will have to bring their luggage to their rooms using the staircase as there is no elevator available in old Victorian Homes like these.
Cozy property with quiet residential neighbourhood. The closest underground (tube) station which is 10 minutes walk away is Leytonstone (on the central line). After boarding the westbound tube, one can reach the city centre in around 30 minutes. There is a very close (5 minutes walk) overground station (called as Leytonstone High Road) as well. Lot of shops for food/groceries are available around the closest tube station. The rooms have heating available. There is a portable standing tower fan as well. One needs to bring their own travel adapters as the plugs in the house are standard UK type (type G, 230V, 50Hz). There is an electrical extension cord in the bedroom. Feather filled pillows await in your room other than a cozy quilt and hand/bath towels. The house has a high speed internet that can be connected to wirelessly (over WiFi). The common areas in the house are cleaned superbly. Kitchen utensils, crockeries, cutlery are abundant and gas stoves, toaster, boiler, oven, microwave, among others, are available for use. Daily necessities (like bread, eggs) and groceries (like vegetables, meat) have to be bought/brought by the guests staying in the house. There is a shared toilet/washroom/shower room in each floor, stocked with toilet paper. Hot water is available in the shower room along with hand wash. Guests staying here have to bring their own soap/shower gel and other toiletries for use. The house has a common washing machine and dryer as well. The users have to bring their own detergent to be used in the washing machine. There is a small backyard in the house. Overall, its a nice place to stay at, especially for longer durations. The manager and the housekeepers are super friendly and accommodating. The transportation links are quite close. The kitchen is nice. The rooms are cozy.

United KingdomThe downstairs shower was blocked and sink. I find it disgusting standing in dirty water while having a shower or, washing your face. I would also like to add that the sink on the lower ground bathroom is not suitable & the tap. Its too small & tap is too big. So I used the kitchen sink 😑.
The theme.

No entertainment at all such as TV, neither general nor in the rooms. Contact with landlord always remotely and any need noticed will be solved only the following day Distance to the nearest underground Leytonstone station a bit far ( about 15- 20 minutes walking)

Hong Kong1. During my stay, the temperature of the water for shower on the first floor is not very stable. Sometimes it was very hot. The one on the second floor was cold, not hot at all. Luckily, the one on the Ground floor is ok but would appreciate if the water can be hotter. 2. Would appreciate if there is clearer instruction on how to lock and unlock the door between the kitchen and the garden. I and other guests did not know how to operate the door. Hence, sometimes the door was left unlocked and there could be security concerns.
1. It is close to a metro station, just about 5 minute walk. 2. The room and public area is clean. 3. Though there is no 24-hour reception, its management was responsive to my questions and instructions for check-in was clear. 4. Washing and drying machine was available for laundry purpose. I am satisfied on the whole. 5. I changed room during my stay. A staff was helpful to move my luggage from the 1st floor to the 2nd floor. 6. There is a supermarket near the metro station nearby.

United KingdomI was a bit put off by how the house looked from the outside, as there was a lot of rubbish outside, overflowing out of bins. This almost put me off entering the hotel at all, worried there was something off about the place, so I was then amazed at how the inside decor was the complete opposite of the outside. The other three major issues I had whilst staying at the hotel were that: 1) very late at night, I got a knock at my door saying it was a plumber- however I had not been told by the hotel staff a plumber would be coming- therefore I felt a bit scared- ultimately it was totally fine/legit and they fixed my radiator, however I think the hotel staff should have told me the plumber was coming 2) though it was good that the plumber fixed my radiator, this then ended up being far too hot, and I ended up having quite disturbed sleep as I was just far too hot (and I couldn't find any cog to turn down the radiator) 3) it felt a little strange to me that when I arrived my room was completely open and the key inside, meaning technically anyone could have gone in before I arrived (there were no staff present at the hotel as far as I could see); furthermore the next day, I found the front door of the hotel was on the latch, meaning anyone from the street could have entered. So overall, though there was a lot of positives about the hotel, I think it would be good if they could clean up the outside and also do more to make sure guests feel totally safe- perhaps have a staff member present, or if not a different key system and a house rule not to leave the front door on the latch. Also to make sure to contact guests if a plumber has been called to their room. And to make sure the heating/radiator is not on too high.
I was really pleasantly surprised by quite how lovely the room was at this hotel. It had beautiful decor and furniture- all very white, bright, spotlessly clean and cosy. A lovely space to be in. The kitchen also had a really amazing feel, and the bathroom was also decent. It was great to get booking confirmation from a staff member and to be told I could contact them if I had any problems, even though them contacting me on whattsapp felt a little unorthodox to me.

SwitzerlandYou need to be lucky with your room mates (which I was not the guy next to me was pretty annoying). If you complain fast the landlord tackes it seriously.
Rooms where pretty clean (you can be unlucky with your roommates but it gets cleaned regularly). It's relatively cheap for London and kind of close to the center (you have to walk 10-15 minutes to the next underground station).
