Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

Stayed there for one night to attend all England badminton .it was very close to the venue, walking distance of 5 mins. Having carpark at the hotel was useful, we paid 18£ for 24hrs. Breakfast was good, cooked breakfast, kids liked pancakes too.

United KingdomThe lavatory was separate and tucked away in the corner on it's own. From a purely personal point of view it would have been more convenient for middle of the night visits if it had been in the bathroom. There was a slope across the bed! The very good breakfast was spoiled by overcooked, hard bacon.
Clean well presented hotel and room. We were given a free upgrade for our room which was a nice surprise. Staff were very pleasant and room was spacious and comfortable. The shower was excellent.

United KingdomThe taxi we booked through the hotel was very late and we had to rebook. But they did their best to get it sorted.
The staff were super friendly and the childrens gifts and game area were a winner after long travels. Very accommodating of my therapy dog. The breakfast was decent value and with lots of options. Good kids meal box in evening. Room was decent value and size for family.

United KingdomI found the mattress uncomfortable so didnt sleep well and the room was a bit too warm for me. I didnt like that in addition to paying for the room and breakfast that I had to pay an additional £18 to park my car in the hotel car park particularly after being told when I rang the hotel to make enquiries that there wouldn't be an additional charge.
The room was lovely. The breakfast was exceptional, everything you could possible want was available. Staff were very pleasant and accommodating. We were going to an event at the symphony hall and the hotel was perfectly located for getting there in a few minutes.

It was perfect location for a night out in Birmingham. We stayed there with friends and it’s very handy being right next to a supermarket, opposite a fast food restaurant and all the pubs/clubs in a line from there. Great choice of places to go. Hotel bed was comfortable and the shower wasn’t bad. Would definitely use again for convenience. Also had parking underneath.

United KingdomMy husband is coeliac and dairy intolerant so he has to be really careful with food. At breakfast he asked if the sausages were gluten free and was told they were. We were very impressed that the GF bread had its own toaster but there was no dairy free butter so I asked for some at the counter, Took time but it did arrive. I double checked the sausages as they were the only ones and this time I was told they were not gluten free! I told the staff member that my husband was coeliac and that we were now going to have a dreadful visit as he would be really ill. She called the head of the restaurant who was really sweet and she tracked down what was happening. It seems the sausages are GF but they cannot say that because a customer may have used the tongs to pick up something else. I fully understand that but do feel Novotel needs to do something for their GF and DF intolerant customers. My husband does not have a GF fad, he becomes very ill. Perhaps the best way is to say the sausages are GF but get freshly cooked ones from the kitchen when asked? And I would like to thank the restaurant manager for dealing with the problem very efficiently and politely.

United KingdomThe bedroom was pretty dated and the noise meant I didn't get a decent sleep until I switched rooms away from the road. Doesn't look like the windows are appropriate for the location. They need to be double/triple glazed.
Breakfast was great and the staff were really nice.

In comparison the deco and colour in their hotel was nicer and more modern than ours.
