Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

NetherlandsWe would have given this hotel full marks were it not for the following: 1. Minor nitpick: the safe. We wanted to use the safe that was in our room so I decided to test it out by first putting an expired plane ticket inside. The safe would not open at all after we locked it. Melissa assured us that she could open it for us but she was not able to do so electronically. She said that she could open it via a key but as we were already departing in a few hours on our last day in the hotel, we opted to just leave the ticket inside the safe. 2. Major complaint: the absence of hot water in the shower. For context, the check-out time of the hotel is at 11 AM. As such, we made sure to prep at 9:30 AM on our last day so that we would have ample time to pack our stuff and take nice, warm baths. Except that the hotel decided to maintain their boiler at the same time that we were about to take a bath so the water that came out of the shower was hellishly cold! They said that the water should warm up in 30 minutes but in reality, it warmed up only 1 hour after the boiler was maintained! Why the hotel decided to do the boiler maintenance at such a time when many of their departing guests would most likely take baths is beyond puzzling. In the end, we begrudgingly took ice cold showers.
1. The staff were very friendly and attentive especially Melissa at the reception. Her professionalism is easily one of the best things about our stay in 1 Craven Hill Gardens. 2. The hotel's location is great. It is situated close to 2 underground stations (i.e. Queensway and Bayswater) which makes it easy to get around the city and its various sights and offerings. 3. The check-in and check-out procedures were fuss-free.

United KingdomIt was very quiet in our room. The area was great for cafes and interesting restaurants. Good for bus routes in to museums and art galleries. The staff were helpful. The room was small but had everything we needed. We didn't find the sitting room until we checked out. It seemed like a nice place to chat to friends. Everything was very clean, and well mentained. We'll come again!

United KingdomThe extractor fan above the hot plate didn’t seem to turn on and we could’ve done with some non slip mats in shower.
It was well presented and welcoming. Really good value for money.

UkraineI think you better charge extra euros and add a small bottle of dishwashing liquid, and add some tea. Usually people don't have chance to take these first needed things with them directly from flights :)
The location is great. The manager was very attentive to us, everything I expected to get from this cute hotel - I got. Was surprised with the hidden fully functional kitchen in the room.

NetherlandsThe light in the toilet was broken. It kept blinking. There was no kithcen soap and sponge to clean the dishes. The reception desk is opened only during the specific time. And on the Christmas eve, the staff was gone before the informed time, so I couldn't ask the staff for what I need.
The room was really spacious. There was kitchen so that we could cook during Christmas time that many restaurants are closed. The staff was friendly. The location is right near the Hyde park.

New ZealandThere was building work going on right outside the hotel which woke us up at 8am, we had hoped for a relaxing morning before catching our midday train, unfortunately the hotel had not made us aware of this prior to booking. Had we known we would not have chosen to stay there as other hotels were available at the same price. If you are planning on staying in the next few months I would recommend checking with the hotel prior to booking.
Nice clean modern room, big shower, adjustable heating, lady on reception very friendly. Close to Underground & Paddington Rail Station. 5 min walk to Kensington Gardens.

IrelandOur room was quite cold - the thermostat did not have a heat function and it said “the filter should be changed”!
Very nice welcoming staff! They allowed us to leave our luggage both before checking in as well as before leaving for the airport allowing us to explore London without having to bring our luggage with us!

United KingdomThe location was a bit deceiving, it was a mile and a half from central Hyde park and quite a walk from any tube station. There was no soap in the room, we were given 4 travel sized bottles of shampoo. The air conditioning unit was in a foreign language so could not adjust the temperature settings. There was a long dark black hair on the fresh towels.
The bed was comfortable and the room looked newly renovated. Large TV and coffee making facilities in the room. There was even an electric hob, microwave, kettle and mini fridge.

AustraliaWhilst we loved the location, overall, our experience was a little disappointing and less than we had expected. We arrived at 14:40 and were made to sit in the common lounge area until 15:00 (precisely) before the concierge would allow us to check-in. We could have left our luggage and gone out for a while but we were tired and wanted to access our room, so we decided to wait. We were pretty sure the room was already prepared and ready for us but they charge a £20 per hour fee if you want to check in earlier, so there was no offer to allow us in before 15:00. The following morning, I asked the concierge if she would please photocopy a document (1 sheet) for me and I was advised "we don't do that sir" despite the photocopier/printer being within arms length. The room was much smaller than we had anticipated. The accommodation is advertised as having self-catering facilities with a kitchenette; but there was only one seat in the room and only the bench to eat at (no table). Also, whilst the kitchen is equipped with a small fridge and a stove top with two induction points, we didn't feel the property really wanted these used for cooking. Reasons are: 1. No detergents, no scourers, no paper towels and no hand towels. 2. We asked for these and were advised they are not be supplied. 3. We used cups and plates and cutlery for coffee/tea and toast and were advised housekeeping would be asked to clean them for us. 4. There is very little workbench space in the kitchenette. 5. There was no evidence of condiments, salt & pepper or anything of that nature which we have never seen before in properties with "functioning kitchens/kitchenette's" we have stayed in.
The location was really excellent for exploring London and surrounds. Close to Hyde Park, Paddington Station is maybe a 15 minute walk and there's two accessible underground Tube access points and bus stops close by and plenty of dining options available too. The room was modern, air conditioned, very clean and serviced daily however, the room was very small. The housekeeping staff were very helpful and courteous. There was a coffee machine, kettle and toaster in the room and crockery, utensils and cutlery for two people.
