Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

GermanyNo hairdryer and no hands towel (small, just the big ones were provided). Maybe I could have asked for that but it was too late when I realized.

United KingdomLighting over bed really bright, could do with mood lighting, coffee cup for tea (too small), no sponges or washing up stuff despite kitchenette, leaky guttering or running water splashing sound coming from outside was noisy all night
Good room size, kitchenette, great shower, nicely decorated, nice reception staff and reception area, great price

United KingdomRoom was a little small, but it wasnt that much of an issue. And window looked onto a wall as basement. But that didnt matter to us.
Receptionist was great, very helpful. Cleanliness was brilliant. Quiet, and in a lovely safe area. Police car stationed outside always. So no trouble.

United KingdomThe room was very small with little space to store things or even place a bag. We knew it would be small, and perfect if travelling alone I'm guessing. However, for the amount of time we were there, it wasn't an issue. Maybe next time we would request a larger room, but no real issue
Room was very clean and tidy, as was the bathroom. It was warm in the room which was good, although being able to control the heat was also available as sometimes you cannot in some hotels. The location was good & quiet, in so much as near enough to walk to places in London, but also not that far away from a couple of different tube stations that ran on different lines that took you where ever you wanted in the London area

FranceI thought the bed was too hard, not very comfortable actually. But I guess considering location it is all about the compromise. The person at the reception was not necessarily super welcoming, but he was very polite and helpful with our questions. I honestly didn't like the "no early check-in" policy (they might do it but they charge you £20 per hour if you'd like to come earlier). I know this is not always possible, but most hotels offer the possibility to do an early check-in uppon request and if the room is available. They also offer to store the luggage while the room is available. I saw the policy and didn't even call to see if we could store them there, I didn't want to be charged extra, so we had to take our luggage with us through all the museums and whatnot before the check-in. Also, late check-in is not possible after 9PM, which is a shame. Some flights arrive either in the morning or at night, making optional early check-in or late check-in a necessity. Anyway, I guess besides from that, all was ok. We didn't stay long enough in this hotel so I can't give more info.
The room was much smaller that I thought, but but was not too bad. I liked that the room as pretty clean and that the check-in was very easy and fast. The location is perfect, just 5 minutes walking and you have a bus stop straight to Marble Arch and just super close to Hyde Park.

NetherlandsWe would have given this hotel full marks were it not for the following: 1. Minor nitpick: the safe. We wanted to use the safe that was in our room so I decided to test it out by first putting an expired plane ticket inside. The safe would not open at all after we locked it. Melissa assured us that she could open it for us but she was not able to do so electronically. She said that she could open it via a key but as we were already departing in a few hours on our last day in the hotel, we opted to just leave the ticket inside the safe. 2. Major complaint: the absence of hot water in the shower. For context, the check-out time of the hotel is at 11 AM. As such, we made sure to prep at 9:30 AM on our last day so that we would have ample time to pack our stuff and take nice, warm baths. Except that the hotel decided to maintain their boiler at the same time that we were about to take a bath so the water that came out of the shower was hellishly cold! They said that the water should warm up in 30 minutes but in reality, it warmed up only 1 hour after the boiler was maintained! Why the hotel decided to do the boiler maintenance at such a time when many of their departing guests would most likely take baths is beyond puzzling. In the end, we begrudgingly took ice cold showers.
1. The staff were very friendly and attentive especially Melissa at the reception. Her professionalism is easily one of the best things about our stay in 1 Craven Hill Gardens. 2. The hotel's location is great. It is situated close to 2 underground stations (i.e. Queensway and Bayswater) which makes it easy to get around the city and its various sights and offerings. 3. The check-in and check-out procedures were fuss-free.

United KingdomIt was very quiet in our room. The area was great for cafes and interesting restaurants. Good for bus routes in to museums and art galleries. The staff were helpful. The room was small but had everything we needed. We didn't find the sitting room until we checked out. It seemed like a nice place to chat to friends. Everything was very clean, and well mentained. We'll come again!

UkraineI think you better charge extra euros and add a small bottle of dishwashing liquid, and add some tea. Usually people don't have chance to take these first needed things with them directly from flights :)

NetherlandsThe light in the toilet was broken. It kept blinking. There was no kithcen soap and sponge to clean the dishes. The reception desk is opened only during the specific time. And on the Christmas eve, the staff was gone before the informed time, so I couldn't ask the staff for what I need.
The room was really spacious. There was kitchen so that we could cook during Christmas time that many restaurants are closed. The staff was friendly. The location is right near the Hyde park.
