Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomCompared to our previous stays there were a couple of things that were a little disappointing. Whilst the large bed had lovely bedding, the mattress itself was extremely hard which unfortunately made for a really uncomfortable nights sleep, I felt bruised! I generally prefer a firm mattress but this was next level. It’s in desperate need of a foam topper or something! It was great to have towels provided, but the towels were literally crunchy, rough like sand paper and very small. This was very disappointing and really unpleasant. Frustratingly there was only one shoulder height mirror in the room. Any person smaller than 5”4 would struggle to see into it as it’s over a huge fireplace! The room needs a full length mirror and there was plenty of space to put one. The tea and coffee making facilities were fine but the milk was in those awful sachets thrown into the mini fridge and wonder if it would be a nicer touch to provide fresh milk in a small milk bottle in the fridge as a lot of B&Bs do.
The property is lovely, excellent location to Bath city centre and has parking which makes life so much easier. My friend and I have stayed here 4 times for our annual shopping trip and the rooms are bright and spacious. We usually stay on the 1st floor but this time we had a room on the ground floor and noise was really minimal. There used to be larger kitchenette areas with cooking facilities but these have been replaced with a small kitchen side, sink and mini fridge, which are great. There are tea and coffee making facilities and a sofa facing a tv which was great as we preferred a quieter night watching a film in the evening after a hard days shopping! The room was really clean, with lovely furniture and had everything you needed. It was great to find a fan in the wardrobe as it was hot weather during our stay.

United KingdomHad a knock on the door 45 minutes before we were due to check out and within 3 seconds of us not answering because we were getting dressed they began trying to unlock the door to come straight in , pushing our key out on the floor that was in the door already. They were trying to check the fire alarms or something but we felt this was really intrusive as no warning was given and if I hadn’t rushed out of the bathroom to say we were in there they would of burst straight in.

United KingdomNo dressing table and large mirror in room was very smeared. Bin in bathroom had no lid and was rusty.. Plus there was no shelf in the bathroom to put your toiletry bar. Overall it was clean enough but things like the lights and lamp shades and bed side table needed a good clean. The kettle was full of limescqle when we had a drink which was off putting. But there was a good selection of tea and coffee. Big window in room was nice and lovely view but no privacy when getting dressed. Towels weren’t large enough and quite rough.
Location was good and the views of the abbey were nice. Parking at the property was a bonus.

United KingdomSelection of beverages in room could have been better eg there was no ‘tea’ tea - I’d brought my own, luckily. Just a couple of sachets of milk. Given the class and cost of the room, and the fact there are no meals/breakfast attached, i would have hoped for better selection/availability of somewhere to store snacks. Or maybe just fresh milk and a fruit bowl (and regular afternoon/breakfast tea). Small factor.
Room beautiful: lovely view, very comfortable and quiet. Really glad I paid extra for the four-poster option. Host Arthur welcoming and friendly and available when needed - found temporary solution to dripping shower tap. Parking onsite (The thing that swayed me to choose this place over another I’d shortlisted). Very clean, really appreciated this.
