This property was such a lovely stay. The bedroom was clean, cozy, and very comfortable, and I also enjoyed the breakfast! There were a lot of wonderful options. The location was also fantastic - only 15 minutes from the lake. As a solo traveler, it was very convenient to get around, and the hosts were very helpful with recommendations. I absolutely recommend.

The hotel was extremely clean, really friendly owners and breakfast excellent with a varied choice. I opted for the omelette which was cooked to perfection. Fridge in the room with fresh milk in and Tunnocks caramel biscuits a lovely touch. 5 minute walk in to Bowness and lovely peaceful garden at the Bed and Breakfast to chill and sit out and read. An excellent find

Not much in the way of parking, but that's not really a fault of the establishment! I'd have to be very picky indeed to find any faults!

Staff were very friendly and attentive. Room was confortavle and clean. Plenty of options for breakfast.

Location is superb. Very short walk to Windermere or Bowness. Hosts were lovely. Beds are very comfortable and it is slightly back from the main road so quiet in the evenings. Breakfast was to die for. I've already booked my next stay.

Clare and Rob were amazing. Made us feel instantly at home and really cared about us and our stay. The breakfast was also amazing (Big portions!). Great location, great room, great people. What more can i say! We will be back.

There’s no lift so could be a problem if you have mobility issues.

Beautiful building with the most charming garden. Quiet location but within walking distance from town and the lake. The hosts Clare and Rob were really welcoming and attentive. Breakfast was delicious and perfectly cooked. The room was comfortable and tastefully decorated. Would thoroughly recommend this place.

Fantastic bed and breakfast. The hosts made me so comfortable and were very attentive throughout my stay. Every morning the breakfasts were prepared to order and the portions were extremely generous. There was also a gorgeous little garden at the side of the hotel which was perfect for watching the sunsets. Overall an absolutely fantastic stay. Very highly recommended

Room ceiling was low, but I was aware of this. Booking was late so next time I would book a different room.

This was our first visit to Bowness and the Lake District. The hosts were very friendly and accommodating. They made the visit something to remember. We were greeted well on arrival and each morning. Hosts took the time to remember us and ask about our day. They were helpful with any questions we have. The accommodation was very nice with many places to sit and relax. Breakfast had a lot of option to choose from and came cooked to perfection. I will surely recommend and use Oakfold House again when I return.

Excellent location, a short walk into Bowness. Bonus of having parking at the property. There’s a lovely garden area with seating which guests can use. Beautiful period interior decor, very clean, comfortable beds. Wonderful hosts Rob and Clare who were so welcoming and helpful. Breakfast was delicious, good local ingredients used, and the hosts offer a very wide range of options and were very accommodating to provide what my daughter had requested. Particularly liked that there were proper glasses available to use if you wanted to enjoy a bottle of wine in your room - no having to drink out of tumblers or mugs!

Very warm welcome from Claire. Every detail was thought in the room, we could see lots of green view from the room 6 at the top! Claire and Rob were always very kind. Very central location and definitely value for money. We left the car in the hotel car park and walked almost everywhere. Delicious homemade breakfast and very clean facilities. If we come back we definitely will stay again.

Clare and rob were the perfect hosts, made to feel really welcome, robs breakfast was cooked to perfection with plenty of choice to choose from.the room was really comfortable with a great comfy bed and an excellent en-suite shower, perfect location with again the perfect hosts, we will definitely stay again on our next visit to bowness.

The bathroom was a bit small and I personally prefer a proper shower cubicle rather than a shower in bath.
