Decent room but not great value

Value for money was quite poor. Room was basic and small for the price (there wasn't space for even a chair - I had food on the floor). Also cold overnight after central heating was switched off. The sound insulation was not the best - could hear people upstairs having a normal quiet conversation.

    Convenient location

Not enough parking. cramped. small rooms (double bed pushed against the wall) expensive and no midweek discount offer (ie same price for peak weekend time, as it is for midweek nights. ) There should be a discount Sunday to Thursday nights.

good central location. peaceful gardens. clean and tidy. friendly staff. tasty personalised breakfast.

Mattress uncomfortable for me (I realise that may be personal preference). Walls rather thin and unlucky to have a very noisy family in the next room who spoke at the top of their voices all the time and let their child bang on the wall for ages at 7am.

Friendly and helpful as always. Clean room. Great location. Parking and a good breakfast included.

Beautiful building in lovely Bournville. Nicely decorated throughout. Small but very functional and well decorated room. Comfortable bed and pillows. good towels and good size shower cubical. Digital tv and tea and coffee in room. Great breakfast and lovely staff. Beautiful garden and nice bar.

No lift, small room, small parking.

Homey place, great breakfast, the staff was hospitable. We were 3 in one room so the room was small and there was no lift. We drove a car so the location was perfect for us.

Thin walls in later extension - the man next to me snored loudly all night!

Quiet part of the city and close to Highbury Hall where I was working. Room was clean and comfortable and the breakfast very good.

That I only got to stay 1 night due to work commitments! 😢

Just to say it was a pleasure staying in this extremely salubrious hotel, really comfortable nights sleep! I highly recommend, refer, and aim to re-use this hotel again in the near future! Such a pleasant stay! The owners / staff were extremely accommodating, beyond the typical standard. P.s. Great touch with the bar, only the upper echelon of hotels would have “Drambuie” available! Top Notch! 🏆 Hope to visit this establishment again soon!

There is some noise from the traffic, and the configuration of the room could be better. (No bedside table, no way to turn the light out from bed, etc.)

Friendly staff; comfortable, clean room; good breakfast. They kindly let me change the dates of my original booking as I tested positive for Covid the day before I was meant to be staying.

Would prefer cereals/yoghurts etc to be buffet style rather than to ask, or maybe a list would work similar to the one for cooked items? The bed is against the wall which could be difficult for some. TV could be heard through the wall from next room.

On site parking and lovely garden, seating areas. Very clean.

The tiny, tiny rooms! The only place for our suitcase in a twin room was on one of the beds.

Our hosts Patsy & Dave were lovely. Breakfasts were excellent and the towels were huge! Pretty, leafy location, and only a 10 minutes' walk from Bournville railway station.

The room was small and was really the size of a single room, as the bed was up against the wall on one side.

Friendly staff, particularly at breakfast. Nice garden to sit in. Would stay there again, but would ask for a bigger room.

Patsy and her husband are incredibly welcoming and kind and make you feel comfortable and at home instantly. The breakfast was absolutely delicious and my daughter, who is a fussy eater, loved the food too. The bedding and bed were one of the most comfortable I have had the pleasure to sleep in/on. The room was very quiet too with hardly a sound to be heard all night long. Parking on-site is easy and if you are running late for general check-in, Patsy is efficient and will arrange key collection with you in good time.

Bathroom is compact . Glass shelf over sink a little restrictive .

Breakfast was lovely and a good portion . Location is quite but within 20 minutes of central Birmingham ( Train or Car ) . Although this was the first single bed i had slept in in quite a few years , it was surprisingly comfortable . Towels were fresh , clean , white and fluffly . Tea making facilities and a small bottle of water provided . Although it was a hot day the room was lovely and cool .
