I have nothing bad to say about Old Fisherman’s Cottage. It is perfect.

We loved this cottage. It has been beautifully and tastefully decorated throughout. The nautical touches and use of locally made crafts adds to the ambiance. We loved how the ruins of the old cottage formed the quiet, calming back garden. Cannot recommend Old Fisherman’s Cottage highly enough. It’s a beautiful wee gem of a place.

Nothing I can think of to change?

The location was incredibly easy to find and very close to the Harbour. The stay itself was very clean and felt delightfully cosy!

Nothing to dislike. We both hit our heads on the ceiling upstairs but that was our fault. We were glad we had a disabled parking permit because parking might be difficult.

My mum and I had a lovely stay at Julie's cottage. Everything was spotlessly clean. Lots of lovely touches - teacakes, milk, hot water bottles, rugs, speaker, hair dryer/straighteners. We didn't need or use everything but appreciated it. The cottage may be old but the interior has been beautifully modernized. Every bit of space has been put to good use. The TV lost signal quite frequently so we appreciated the iPlayer and other apps. Lots of great info in the black folder. We didn't use the outdoor space but it would be great if the weather was right. Location is good for the shops and the ferry.

We should have booked a week instead of 3 days

The host went above and beyond with the extra touches such as teabags/milk/biscuits, having hairstyling gadgets and good information pack. We were overwhelmed with the coziness of the apartment and were delighted with the proximity to all amenities in Rothsay. Appreciated the privacy with smokescreen windows and blackout curtain in the bedroom. We had a wonderful time thank you.

it didn't bother us much as we weren't there to sit in and watch TV, but the TV took a while to get going and change channel, in spite of it just being the limited freeview type channels. it would be worth them improving that for days when the weather is bad. Parking across the street was on a single yellow line - the sign appeared to indicate that parking wasn't allowed there between 8am and 6pm; other cars were parked there, so we just took a chance and it turned out ok. it would be good for future guests to know if it is ok to park there; if not, then the location of the nearest parking area which is generally available.

Great location, very comfortable living space for a couple. Nice touch that some Tunnocks teacakes and coffee/tea were left in the kitchen for us to use, also some milk. Property was quick to heat up, good shower. Overall, very nice.

We didn’t dislike anything but one or two kitchen implements may help self caterers eg a bread board, tea strainer, cafetière, a few more mugs , tin foil etc but non are essential of course!

We liked everything about this property from the friendly welcome on arrival, to the lovely cosy sitting room and bedroom, well equipped kitchen and bathroom and the added bonus of conservatory, courtyard and bike store. The location was really convenient too for shopping, bars eating out and harbour. We are more than happy to recommend this property.

    Nothing.

Warmth of greeting from Julie, our host. Literal warmth and comfort of this tastefully furnished and well equipped cottage. Proximity to the pier and all facilities - you could see the ferry when you looked down the road. Garden room that caught the sun. Wool blankets and hot water bottles for extra luxury and comfort. Pre-set central heating providing warmth just when you needed it. Julie makes sure guests have contact details in case of any problems plus she lives next door.
