Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.
These guidelines and standards aim to keep the content on Booking.com relevant and family-friendly without limiting expression of strong opinions. They are also applicable regardless of the sentiment of the comment.
Contributions should be travel related. The most helpful contributions are detailed and help others make better decisions. Please don’t include personal, political, ethical, or religious commentary. Promotional content will be removed and issues concerning Booking.com’s services should be routed to our Customer Service or Accommodation Service teams.
Contributions should be appropriate for a global audience. Please avoid using profanity or attempts to approximate profanity with creative spelling, in any language. Comments and media that include 'hate speech', discriminatory remarks, threats, sexually explicit remarks, violence, and the promotion of illegal activity are not permitted.
All content should be genuine and unique to the guest. Reviews are most valuable when they are original and unbiased. Your contribution should be yours. Booking.com property partners should not post on behalf of guests or offer incentives in exchange for reviews. Attempts to bring down the rating of a competitor by submitting a negative review will not be tolerated.
Respect the privacy of others. Booking.com will make an effort to obscure email addresses, telephone numbers, website addresses, social media accounts, and similar details.
The opinions expressed in contributions are those of Booking.com customers and properties and not of Booking.com. Booking.com does not accept responsibility or liability for any reviews or responses. Booking.com is a distributor (without any obligation to verify) and not a publisher of these comments and responses.
By default, reviews are sorted based on the date of the review and on additional criteria to display the most relevant reviews, including but not limited to: your language, reviews with text, and non-anonymous reviews. Additional sorting options may be available (by type of traveller, by score, etc.).

United KingdomWe didn't book for another night 😕
The location was amazing. The Doghouse has the best spot, next to the stream. Loved the peace and tranquility. Sauna and plunge pool worth the additional cost. Our hosts Jen & Mags were wonderful. Mags' artwork adorns the accommodation and it is beautiful. Bed was so comfy, shower red hot, little treats left for us and the dog, along with dog bowl and dog bags were so thoughtful. Please don't book unless you love, sheep, goats, chickens, wildlife and serenity.

United KingdomThe owners are amazing - this trip was booked for my friends and that have not stopped telling me about how welcome they felt throughout the trip. Also they have games arrange with the lodges - which were amazing. There no reason for tv or any electronic devices - they have thought of everything and honestly wish them the best of luck for the future. We will all definitely be back.

United KingdomNothing everything was perfect
Absolutely loved our 2 nights here with our 2 little boys. Jenny and Margaret were so welcoming, added so many little touches, homemade orange marmalade, apple juice, board games, and even owls all over the lodge to find. The place is so peaceful, relaxing, and atmospheric. Clean, everything needed, if needed anything the communication was spot on, nothing ever too much trouble, hot tub at sunset was stunning and the boys loved the sheep and chickens . We would recommend Owl Lodge to anyone you will not be disappointed, the best place we have stayed, and we have stayed in quite a few hotels and retreats and are planning on coming back again soon. Thank you, Jenny and Margaret, for making our little getaway perfect

United KingdomThis was very minor, but the bathroom bin hadn’t been emptied on our arrival, and loo roll not replenished. A tea towel would have come in useful too! Everything else was perfect, so this was probably just a mistake rather than anything to dislike about the property itself.
Fantastic location with beautiful mountain view, so peaceful but still just a short drive from Llangollen and attractions. Really tastefully decorated, great shower, lovely wood burner with a generous amount of logs, and great wood-fired hot tub which made it a really special place to stay.

United KingdomSteps to Dog House were treacherous without lighting and slippery under foot in the wet. It was 4 hours to heat the Hot tub and only managed 1 degree below body temperature, with dangerous access to and from the tub. The settee was rock hard and only other option was wooden chairs, so difficult to relax. Particularly off putting was the mains brown water in the kitchen and bathroom. Some of the kitchen equipment was unclean. Feather duvet and pillows did not reflect the requirements of those with allergies (asthmatics).
Very peaceful, quaint, welcome pack very pleasant, friendly and helpful hosts.

United KingdomThere is absolutely nothing to possibly dislike! I think that would be impossible!
We absolutely adored everything. This place is outstanding and we can't wait to go back. Beautiful location, amazing accommodation and the hosts are absolutely fantastic. Very, very lovely people. A running stream outside that sends you to sleep at night. The hot tub at twilight will remain one of my most treasured memories EVER! The secret sauna and penguin pool was a fabulous experience. I'd live at Faraway Follies if I could! 😀 averaging unique and magical place.

United KingdomThe door to the main bedroom was in need of repair and the hot water wasn't hot so we had cold showers. Our Sunday morning lie in was cut short when lots of people arrived at 7 am and chatted loudly outside our accommodation ( I think they were arriving for some sort of mindfulness session onsite)
The lodge was really spacious and well though through. the rooms were beautifully furnished and it felt like the owners/hosts really took care and pride in the space. We travelled with our dogs for a small fee and they were well considered with treats a bowl, poo bags and a blanket on arrival. This was a lovely and appreciated touch.

United KingdomWe regretted not booking a longer stay! Haha:) Faultless.
What a beautiful place you have Jenny and Margaret! Luckily, we are quite local to Llandegla so we already knew how stunning it was, but Faraway Follies blew away our already high expectations out of the water. We stayed during Storm Babet, but with the cosy log fire, a night of board games and some great local pub grub we still managed to have a fabulous weekend, and a few dips in the Hot Tub. Thank you so much Jenny and Margaret for having us, you are both so lovely and funny! We will be back very soon Xxx

United KingdomThe only thing we didn't like was the sofa was a pull out sofa but it wasn't comfy and when we got there the full jar of milk was off they are the only things that was wrong with our stay.
This is our second time here and It didn't disappoint. We felt comfortable listening to the music relaxing by the fire playing board games. Not many places allow pets to come but we was shocked to find dog waste bins outside the door The scenery was wonderful you get a good view of the hills and the farmers fields. Their was a log fired jacuzzi but we didn't end up using it at our stay but I'm sure once it got going it would be good too. Overall our stay was great and would come again for a 3rd time.

United KingdomThere's no TV... there's quite basic cooking facilities but we managed... it is really small... the only heating is a wood burner so on cold mornings, someone is going to have to get up in the cold to get a fire going. WiFi, get Jenny to create your own server or it's very very weak. The hottub looks like its for churning butter. We didn't use it but it looks like you have to heat from scratch again using a wood fire.
Staying here you need to come in eyes wide open... it's a tin shack beautifully converted... therein lies it's charm & also it's quirkiness. It's location is stunning. Jenny is a star. The only heating is a wood burning stove which really pumps out heat once it gets going... so someone has to be good at lighting fires and keeping them fed... quite fun.
