The hotel was excellent. Clean and comfortable. The touches in the room like fresh milk, selection of tea, coffee, chocolate were a welcome surprise. Our group eat there every evening and the dinner choice was vast, well cooked and the portions were large. Breakfast was superb too. Staff were attentive and could not do enough for you. Best hotel we have stayed in for a.long time.

The food was of medium quality. Eg pate bland, tomatoes large and pretty tasteless, Bakewell tart lacking in almond flavour.

I liked it all - more an ‘even better if’: would be great to have breakfast available earlier at weekends so walkers can start earlier

Very clean and comfortable room with everything modern and working. It had everything you need for a comfortable stay. Nice food, very friendly and quick service. Nice outside area. Lots of parking

The room is very nice, comfortable and cosy, super clean and with all the features needed. Bathroom very spacious and stylish. The outside is amazing with a fantastic garden where we could sit and have a nice drink, very quiet and relaxing. The pub is very welcoming and the food delicious!

Water was only luke warm and there is only one super king bed on the premises.

External concrete steps to the room, not mentioned on booking, were a minor hazard - I have some mobility issues - but as I didn’t mention this on booking, it was my mistake. The TV was too high to view comfortably from the chair - again a very minor niggle.

Very friendly and helpful staff. Great location. Quiet. Inclusive breakfast more than adequate, plenty of choice. Room facilities well thought out, everything provided including fresh milk !

The windows were draughty but it was very windy.

We have stayed before and when we had to head north for a funeral I didn’t think twice about where to stay. It’s comfy and homely.

On the day I was called by Lucy who so considerately wanted to ask if we would like a table to eat! this scored brownie points from the start. so very thoughtful. The property location was beautiful and easy to find, the moment we arrived we were made to feel welcome and valuable. We were shown to our room and told everything needed. the room was extremely clean and well presented with everything needed. The Decor was lovely, and the view from room 6 was beautiful. We can not fault that. The staff went above and beyond the whole time we were there. Even going out of their way to make sure we had meals when we arrived late on the Sat eve (due to walking 8 hours straight over the peaks) the kitchen had closed but they still whipped us both up the most delicious meal. we were so incredibly grateful for this. The breakfast choice was extensive from a fried breakfast to waffles and cereals. It was well cooked and very tasty. the evening meals were worth every penny! The value for the hearty plate of food was exceptional!! The whole atmosphere, staff, location, in fact our whole time and stay was 100/10 I would recommend this venue wholeheartedly to anyone, and certainly will be coming back again. Thank you to everyone there!
