Rooms can get pretty over hot at night time. There is a thermostat in most rooms so you might need to fiddle to get it how you like. Check in was acceptable. Not the most welcoming, but on the other hand a lot of people just want to get their key and get into their room. It would have been better if the check in was in the hotel room block, not in the pub restaurant. It's a bit uncomfortable to be bringing your bags in through an often crowded bar to find visitor reception.

It's clean, functional, and spacious, with generous parking. Often not full whenever we return. It's conveniently situated 3 minutes drive into the town centre, and 1 minute from the dual carriageway routes. Prices can vary. Sometimes rooms are very reasonable, but peak times the prices double and at £120 a night the rooms are too bland to justify this price.

It's difficult to say what could have been better - maybe the male staff could speak a little more clearly and put a smile on their faces, learn from the women!

It was an excellent breakfast, everything you needed - liked the fact that you could order cooked food, it wasn't floating about in trays looking like it had been cooked hours ago. Everyone was really helpful and friendly. The layout of the dining area was very good, plenty of room between tables, Christmas decorations were really tasteful, not loads of glitter and flashing lights. Everywhere clean and tidy.

Booked restaurant when we booked in but when we went to eat no record of our booking; not a problem a there was space but there may have been issues on a busy night. Food was ok but I had the fish and chips and there was more taste of the deep fat fryer than the fish.

It’s a minor niggle but we were only given one card for the room. The hairdryer was missing which probably should have been picked up by housekeeping. The hotel was full so a replacement wasn’t available

Good location. Basic but everything you need and spotlessly clean. Nice pub restaurant one site. A special mention to the staff team. All exceptionally friendly and helpful.

Door lock into the hotel not working so we were locked out on our return after midnight. We stood around for 15 mins and the night porter didn’t respond to the buzzer turned out the door wasn’t locked but just jammed, and needed a heavy push. But there was no sight telling guests that. After reporting it, next day there was still no sign! The at 9 am the breakfast bar had run out of milk, had no pastries for the continental of full breakfast and could only offer partially frozen berries and coconut yoghurt as they had run out of all others. A very poor deal!
