The beer barrel could of done with changing but thats about it.

It was very close to alton towers. It was very clean and the staff were very kind. The accommodation we had was outside in its own building, which was very nice. Its a lovely old fashioned pub with lovely food.

Understanding the building is old fashion, but rooms could be better sound proofed. Going to bed heard every conversation in the bar area until it was shut, I believe we were right above it.

Great atmosphere, lovely people running the place, tasty meals. Alton Towers under 10min drive.

my only criticism would be the the TV was very quiet and I couldn’t seem to turn up the sound but honestly that’s all.

    excellent location, lovely setting.

I really can’t think of anything we didn’t like.

We stayed in one of the outside brick chalets, and spent the evenings in the Inn bar and it was all very pleasant. The Inn itself is full of the charm you would expect, from it’s location in the rolling hills, and both Margaret, the landlady, and the staff were lovely and charming too. Nothing was too much trouble. We intend to return at a future date.

Room bit small for family, bed was uncomfortable, furniture needed update, bit cold. Needed modernisation and better facilities for the price.

Lovely little pub and chalets incredibly close to Alton Towers (not even a 10 min drive). There's an Asda 5 minutes away and the food in the pub is really lovely - both me and my husband recommend the lasagne. The breakfast is great - a choice of cereals with alternative milk before tucking into a full English breakfast. Ample free parking, chalets were clean, warm with linen provided. The staff were absolutely lovely and we had some great chats at the bar and my daughter's dairy allergy was well catered for. Very child friendly. I'd definitely stay here again!

Only point to mention is that the accommodation is a little dated & could do with a revamp. It all just depends on how fussy & high maintenance you are! We really enjoyed it. It was clean, the bar/ food really reasonable& and we were made to feel really welcome.

Very friendly, helpful & welcoming . Great location for Alton Towers, too, which was ideal for what we wanted. We would recommend and stay again

    Nothing

Margaret & her staff were so helpful and friendly. They couldnt do enough to make sure we had everything we needed for our stay. It is perfect if visiting Alton Towers, 10min drive away. Gorgeous traditional pub, real fire and a round pool table! Very unique. Food - good selection, pub style, even my fussy 12yr old ate dinner and breakfast each day! Rooms- clean, cosy comfortable beds. Free car parking.

Only downside was the size of the bed, with a 6ft2 bear of a husband it was a squeeze for space on a double bed.

Location was amazing, just a short drive from Alton Towers. Staff were very friendly and food was good. Loved the history behind the pub.

    We had no concerns.

We were looking for a low cost place to stay that allowed us access to hikes and Alton Towers. The room was comfortable and clean. Good shower and bed. The landlord was accommodating and offered to drive us to Alton Towers. Had a very nice meal on our last day. A very nice stay.
