Car park was full when arrived, eventually found a space on the far side.

A lovely manor house surrounded by beautiful gardens with lots of peakcocks roaming free, room was very comfortable with everything you need for a overnight stay. A tasty buffet breakfast served in the morning with lots of choice.

Pool changing rooms were out of order and there was an unpleasant smell. Coffee it breakfast was horrible and bitter. This hotel needs to invest into a decent coffee machine or offer cafetière coffee.

Great place to stay with kids. Loved the peacocks! Facilities and food were good.

Room air conditioner not working correctly. Set it to 22 Degrees and after an hour it was up to 28. Reset it to 22 and went to 28 after an hour. This went on all night. The scrambled eggs for breakfast were was just a mass sea of yellow slosh. If I had more time I would of asked if they could poach a couple of eggs for me.

Pool was excellent apart from the pool changing rooms were closed but others available with a short walk. Grounds were spectacular. Location was perfect with a cheep taxi ride into town.

Showers were a little bit difficult to understand and couldn’t make it go cool enough. would have preferred that there had been muesli, nuts and prunes for breakfast but there was a good variety anyway

Wonderful location and grounds and lovely people

The huge number (20 plus) of peacocks which were all over the external tables and chairs was offputting/scary and dominated the outside area. Breakfast was a little disappointing. No menu offered, and the tea was stewed as it was served out of one large pot rather than individual teapots.

All the staff were very friendly and helpful. The decor of our room (171) and the dining room in particular was bold but tasteful. The extensive grounds were delightful to see (sadly too wet for us to enjoy sitting outside).

It is unfortunate that on both nights of our stay there was loud music playing up until 1pm making it difficult to sleep.

Superb setting. Great staff and food. Rooms were newly decorated and very clean. Was a special treat to have peacocks within the manor. Just magical

Disappointing restaurant and bar menu. Not enough choice and poor quality of food. The cod was completely tasteless and my steak was medium instead of rear. No blood. Poor meat quality.

Good sauna and facilities and price. Nice staff

Leisure facilities. Too small so very busy, town centre leisure pool was quieter. The changing rooms were closed so had to walk through a tunnel to get to small changing room, no shower gel to wash down afterwards, very basic and for sure not what I expected of a 4*, so f do disappointing. Booked evening meal for our anniversary and half hour before were informed they made a mistake and so couldn’t be accommodated. Definitely not 4* behaviour for customer experience, thankfully Wendover had a nice Indian restaurant that is worth a visit.

Nice location. Was promising but let down.

Not enough seating in the bar areas and the new extension to the bar wasn’t nearly as nice as the old part(lacked atmosphere/ambience). My disabled mother would’ve liked a chair and more space to put wash bags in the bathroom. She is not wheelchair bound but would’ve loved a seat.

Lovely setting and the old parts of the building were gorgeous. All the staff couldn’t have been nicer. They were very welcoming and nothing was too much trouble. The rooms were clean and spacious and the beds were very comfortable. The restaurant was beautifully kept and we loved the tablecloths and proper napkins!

£17.50 each for a buffet breakfast is extortionate. The breakfast was average. Got served coffee in a mug so it went cold. Should have been served a coffee pot or cafetière. Needed to have been a ramp at reception for disabled guests, especially as I had informed the hotel in advance my partner was disabled. All being well offering to help him up the stairs but a simple ramp would have been less embarrassing for him or any other disabled guest.

Lovely hotel and building, very friendly welcome. Luke the porter took us and our bags to our room. I asked for an accessible room and got one. Staff on reception were very obliging and helpful too.

The room was not cleaned throughly on arrival and daily housekeeping required some prompting.
