How guest reviews work
Each review score is between 1-10. To get the overall score that you see, we add up all the review scores we’ve received and divide that total by the number of review scores we’ve received. We are currently testing a weighted review system in Malta and Iceland (excluding hotel and vacation rental chains). For properties in these countries, the more recent the review, the bigger the impact on the total review score calculation. In addition, guests can give separate ‘subscores’ in crucial areas, such as location, cleanliness, staff, comfort, facilities, value for money and free Wi-Fi. Note that guests submit their subscores and their overall scores independently, so there’s no direct link between them.
You can review an Accommodation that you booked through our Platform if you stayed there or if you arrived at the property but didn’t actually stay there. To edit a review you’ve already submitted, please contact our Customer Service team.
We have people and automated systems that specialise in detecting fake reviews submitted to our Platform. If we find any, we delete them and, if necessary, take action against whoever is responsible.
Anyone else who spots something suspicious can always report it to our Customer Service team, so our Fraud team can investigate.
Ideally, we would publish every review we receive, whether positive or negative. However, we won’t display any review that includes or refers to (among other things):
- Politically sensitive comments
- Promotional content
- Illegal activities
- Personal or sensitive information (e.g. emails, phone numbers or credit card info)
- Swear words, sexual references, hate speech, discriminatory remarks, threats, or references to violence
- Spam and fake content
- Animal cruelty
- Impersonation (e.g. if the writer is claiming to be someone else)
- Any violation of our review guidelines.
To make sure reviews are relevant, we may only accept reviews that are submitted within 3 months of checking out, and we may stop showing reviews once they’re 36 months old – or if the Accommodation has a change of ownership.
An Accommodation may choose to reply to a review.
When you see multiple reviews, the most recent ones will be at the top, subject to a few other factors (what language a review is in, whether it’s just a rating or contains comments as well, etc.). If you like, you can sort and/or filter them (by time of year, review score, etc.).
We sometimes show external review scores from other well-known travel websites. We make it clear when we’ve done this.

Everything was great.

It turned out to be a cosy residence for me. As I have mobility problems, it was convenient for me to use a lift next to the dining room and walk easily to my bedroom. In fact I had enjoyed my sojourn in the Elmham.House very much.

Breakfast - cooked options were quite basic, would be good to have locally sourced produce, cooked with attention to the ingredients - more healthy yogurt rather than low fat options with artificial sweeteners- and fresh orange juice would be great

Very bare rooms but they were functional and clean.
Central location, easily accessible, amenities close by, perfect for many friends to book in too - providing different options for booking. Lovely breakfast - with lots to choose from. Communal rooms to use also.

Room not en suite. No tea or coffee making facilities in room. I knew this before I booked, though, so no fault of establishment.
Spotlessly clean. Friendly staff. Very helpful with storing my bike overnight. Very Interesting place to stay.

Beautiful hotel, location perfect. We travelled as a trio and booked a triple room with en suite.. Very clean with comfy beds, beautiful room and view.. Evening meal and breakfast tasty and plentiful.. View from the conservatory dining area gorgeous, overlooking the garden and grounds, bluebellsin bloom.. Staff very helpful, and also provided a cake and candles for Mums birthday.... Enjoyed our stay very much, we will definitely return and recommend!.. Such a serene, peaceful and tranquil experience ... A cleansing of the soul.. Please see my photos!.. We will definitely return, well done Elmham House

Well a TV could have rounded things off, but was rather nice to just read,chat and take local short walks.
Great breakfast plus you can make yourself a Coffe or Tea at other odd times at no extra cost.Great Value! As a Birder its position was equidistant between Cley and Titchwell.Nice to have option of a Service on a Sunday morning too.

The beds should be improved. They don't look appealing, just some piece of wood nailed together . I had problems withy putting the radiator on. I was freezing and called the reception so many times but no answer. I later got them after some hours and the problem was solved.
The breakfast was healthy and tasty. The location though very far away from the shrine, is quiet and good for meditation.

Everything was excellent. We were offered a free upgrade as they weren’t too busy and this was very welcome. Very generous of them. Everywhere spotlessly clean and good facilities. It’s a hostel, and looks like one but we knew that and it was perfect for our needs. Good breakfast, nice dining room and tea and coffee in room as well as dining room which was very appreciated. Comfortable beds and warm room. A friendly and warm welcome even though it was late evening.

I stayed here several years ago and thus I knew that it is simple accommodation - a retreat for those on pilgrimage not a 5 star hotel. I was so pleasantly surprised to find out that it has been fully refurbished. My bedroom was very comfortable indeed..

The location and parking is a bit tricky but not impossible. Limited storage option in the room to unpack, especially near the sink.
Despite shared bathrooms, they were very clean, the heating in the room was easy to adjust. Breakfast was varied and hot drinks this time of the year were welcome. Staff is lovely and welcoming, I felt safe.
