My husband and I visited the Pinetrees on 4 different occasions last year . We love the hotel , the location is perfect and so relaxing , great food and lovely welcoming staff also .

I found the cost of the evening meal prohibitive. If I recall correctly, £45 for two courses plus drinks. Most guests, if they are staying for more than one night B&B, will look elsewhere

We have been coming to this particular hotel for years. It has fairly recently been taken over by a chain. However, I am pleased to say Pine Trees has kept it's individuality and charm

The bedroom was freezing! Not the hotel's fault - it was January and absolutely Baltic outside. The hotel did supply a portable heater to supplement the central heating but it didn't put out much heat.

Hotel was very nice. Traditional and full of character, which I like. Roaring log fires - big tick in chilly January. Room was spacious and comfortable. The gardens looked lovely and were one of the reasons we picked Pine Trees, but we ran out of time to explore them properly. Hotel staff were friendly and welcoming. Hotel is not far from Pitlochry main street, so easy to leave the car there and walk down.

Fabulous hotel - managing to combine contemporary and traditional furnishings, log fires and great staff. An oasis of calm.

Can't say I didn't like anything, my only grump is the cost for the dog staying! The last number of times we stayed we had a one off charge, this time it was £20 per dog per night!! I personally think this is expensive, puts the cost of our stay much higher, especially if we have a "deal"! I did query it and was told that was always the case and all the hotels charge per night! I beg to differ, plus at other hotels we have stayed at. We get a doggy pack, usually treat, poo bags, water bowl a wee dog bed or blanket, The Pine Trees gave nothing.

The staff were lovely, polite and helpful. Lived the log fire in the lounge area, great coming down in the morning to the smell of a log fire! Breakfast was super, it was a change from the last time we stayed which was buffet style, but I think it was better getting your order taken, best scrambled eggs I've had!

The menu for evening meal would ideally be more varied for a long stay.

The location and the attentiveness of the manager were exceptional. We stayed for 4 nights at half board. The food was excellent. Snacks by the open fire was perfect.

Breakfast was a big let down. Having stayed here before breakfast had been excellent, however guests now choose from a limited menu as opposed to buffet style. Portion size was small and pastries/granola etc limited also. Disappointed.

Gorgeous hotel inside. Bar area is very cosy and the open fire adds to the atmosphere.

Not suitable for anyone with mobility issues, No lift.

Lovely old fashioned charm with open fire and plenty places to sit and relax in the very warm hallway. Room was large and in the upper level. A bit old fashioned but nice with a modern bathroom. It was very warm in the whole hotel which was good but we had to open the windows in January! Breakfast was great, hot and plenty of choice. All staff were very nice and we were shown to our room on arrival which hasn’t happened in a long time!

I had booked rooms with dinner included ( drinks not included) . We ate dinner twice and were presented with the same menu on both evenings. 3 starters 3 main courses 3 desserts ( cheese selection costs extra ) . The food, however, was delicious.

Warm welcome by the staff at reception and later at the bar/restaurant, atmosphere, coziness. Big room and modern bathroom . January is very quiet in this part of Scotland in general so the place was naturally not busy. Nice wood fire burning in the living room at all times. Games ( Scrabble etc) to choose from and spend the evening in front of the fire. Nice bar and second living room. Cuisine is good as well as the wines.

Minor things that didn’t spoil our stay. A double mattress would have been nice as the single mattresses on the double bed tended to separate. The heating control was a bit confusing so a manual would have been helpful.

Fantastic location within woodlands, lovely lounge with fireplace to relax in, and great breakfast. We got a complimentary upgrade and our room was huge, with an outdoor sitting area.

The staff very helpful and friendly, I've stayed in many hotels, the staff here were up there with the best. Felt very welcomed. Meals were excellent. Very comfortable pre-dinner area to sit and relax as i looked over the menu, no rush. Dinner excellent, breakfast perfect.
