What's not to like?

Such a warm and welcome from Helen and Dave who couldn't have been more friendly and helpful. Brilliant breakfasts with a sea view, loads of helpful information about the surrounding area. The room was beautiful and everything was spotlessly clean. Very close to great places to eat and not even a stone's throw from the beach. We just loved it! Couldn't have been better 🥰 Thanks so much to our superhosts Helen and Dave!

You should be aware that the recommended parking adjacent to the property is a bit confusing at night time if booked through the mobile app. After 20:00 you need to pay £2.30 for parking up to 08:00 the next morning but the app seems to indicate that the parking is only until 04:30. However if you extend the parking for one hour the expiry shown is 09:00. I hasten to add that this is not the fault whatsoever of Helen or Dave but the council parking or the app. At peak the car park may get rather full during the day. Only other improvement could be that there could be some milk (not creamer) left in the room for morning tea although I am sure if you request it from Helen/Dave they would probably gladly provide it. The local eateries/pubs adjacent to Pink Beach seem to close rather early so we could not stroll down for a drink, but this may be because we were there out of season. However I did notice that Helen/Dave had a good stocked up bar next to the dining room(unfortunately spotted it on the morning of the day we were leaving).

Helen and Dave are superb hosts. From the moment we arrived to the time we left there was nothing left wanting. Helen informed me of the facilities including parking arrangements clearly well in advance. Helen was very prompt with her responses to any question we had. The breakfast provided was sumptuous and the choice was fantastic. Even though we were out of main season there was nothing that was missing. Helen and Dave have great knowledge of the area and gave good advice on what can be done. If you contact the hosts prior to booking ferries etc Helen and Dave do offer discounted tickets for ferries and parking. Well worth a look.

Nothing had been overlooked in making our stay as pleasant as possible. The accommodation was comfortable, breakfast prepared exactly to our taste. Fresh milk and water in a fridge for drinks. Even the dog came to wish us bon voyage

Standard Side Sea View Triple bedroom was a wee bit cramped with all our luggage, but that´s normal in these old buildings, I guess. I´d always rather stay at a house like this with a wonderful atmosphere than in a modern hotel :-)))

Beautiful old house, great location just opposite of beach. Street in between is not busy at all at night, so not to worry about noises, because main town is behind the cliff in your back. Loved the very friendly hosts Helen, Dave and Richard, they make you feel at home and serve a really great breakfast. They´ll do everything to accommodate your wishes, our daughter is a vegetarian and was very happy, too! We booked the bedroom for 3 people and were happily surprised, that there was a door with which you could separate the single bed from the rest of the room - great when you are traveling with a teenager :-)

Great location right on seafront and easy to drive around the island. Helen and Dave lovely people and very hospitable. Breakfast was very nice especially the lovely fresh fruit salad. Property was very clean.

Only 2 things - bigger I’m really for shade for when the heat wave strikes (!) and a communal area with comfy chairs to chill in the property to ready or chat inside

The staff are extremely welcoming and helpful and the quality of ingredients at breakfast is exceptional. The location of the hotel is fabulous, right on the beach with views of the sea at breakfast. Helen and the team really can’t do enough for you, they are perfect hosts.

Helen, Dave and all the staff could not have been more friendly or helpful. The location is right on the front, 20m from the beach. Breakfast was excellent and varied. Shanklin is a great location to base yourself to see the island, with plenty of local eateries and local sites of interest.

I can not think of anything we did not like maybe only thing could have at least one smoking table in the far corner of the garden but to be honest was not really a problem as we jut went down to the street

Can not fault a thing excellent serves from the moment we arrived. Room very clean love that we had a fridge with fresh milk , plenty of coffee and tea in the room. Wi-Fi was really quick , breakfast was lovely and freshly cooked the sausages were excellent. Already looking at returning

I have been visiting the IOW for over 30 years and can categorically say this is the best place I have stayed. The location is great and the rooms lovely BUT what really sets it apart is Helen and Dave’s care and attention. You will not find guest house owners more committed to ensuring you have a great stay than them. Nothing was too much hassle. The breakfast was fantastic with so much variety and even if they don’t have something you would like they will try to get it for you. Genuinely cannot thank them enough for their care. Unfortunately my partner and I were both unwell for the week and Helen was wonderful trying to offer whatever she could to help us! Thank you Helen and Dave we loved our stay, Sarah and Jack x

Myself and my daughter were in a lovely twin room on the first floor , the room was very clean and had a fridge and tea & coffee making facilities and as an added bonus there was fresh milk and water in the fridge. They also had a fan in the room which came in very handy. The bathroom was clean and a good size . The breakfast was excellent and you could eat it indoors or out on the lovely patio , with a great view of the sea & beach . The location was great and there are bus stops right outside the entrance.
