A very enjoyable and relaxing stay in a friendly place. Good food and a fine selection of beers. Great to be able to have a few games of pool and watch the football.

Toilet paper was directly behind the toilet, impossible to reach, we put it on the floor! Free standing toilet roll holder required. Alternative cereal eg Muesli required. Stairs were quite steep, up to the room, ok for us but others may need to know this. Air Con from the kitchen was noisy and directly below our window. (though did turn off at night).

Room was spacious, beds were comfortable. Bathroom very colourfully tiled, and spacious. Evening meal was good, typical pub food, chips and burgers. Breakfast was good, but a better choice of cereals needed eg muesli, (rather than just cornflakes & crunchynut cornflakes), Cooked breakfast was well prepared.

Only minor niggles. The room is very dark and the only sockets are behind the desk (or behind the beds)which you need to move to charge anything. It would be nice if there was an extra east to reach socket or extension lead. The room was above the extractor fan which was quite noisy but it was switched off at about 8:15 in the evening so was very quiet after that.

I’ve been a few times before as it is very handy for the main coast road and Cresswell beach . I was moved to a twin room instead of the single room I had booked which meant the room and the bathroom were much larger than the single. The facilities were good and the bed was comfortable. I managed to get an evening meal. There was a very limited vegetarian choice but what I had was excellent. I had to book the time for breakfast but as I was the only guest staying this was quite flexible.

The location was good for my visit, Eathan and Rae, behind the bar, were very welcoming, the food in the evening and breakfast were very good, exceptionally good value. Room was comfortable, and all of the facilities were clean and working properly.

The only thing I would comment on was the lighting in the room. It was very dimly lit. The room was dark anyway, but a brighter bulb is required in the main light and another lamp/lighting over the other side near the dressing table.

The room was lovely. The breakfast was excellent. Unfortunately I had arranged to go out and meet a friend elsewhere, but I would have loved to stay for food and my favourite beer Timothy Taylor Landlord, but didn't get the opportunity this time. Lovely friendly staff. Thank you.

After a day cycling in the rain we were very pleased to arrive at the warmth, dry and the welcome at The Plough. Our rooms were very comfortable and provided an excellent night’s rest before we continued our journey. Under cover space was provided for our bikes. We had a very nice evening meal in the restaurant and a fine cooked breakfast next morning. There were also a nice range of well kept beers available in the bar. This was an ideal stop on our cycling tour of Northumberland.
